I’d agree would be unreal, I think it’s totally unrealistic but you never know. If players are desperate to play anything could happen.

I’m definitely parking the rumour until he’s played a game, lad cost £20m when Everton bought him. If we did it it would be loan to buy like Sunderland did with some. It’s either going to be really interesting or drab windows. I see no inbetween… 😂
Wouldn’t even need to be a loan to buy, a 6 month loan for some of these premier league players is definitely possible this January

I’m not opposed to a loan to help us this season but I wouldn’t be dropping big money and a long term contract on McNeil.

He has a good left foot, is hard working, etc but he lacks pace and he doesn’t have a trick.

Everyone likes different types of players but in the prem league I think pace is critical.

So how come he’s played so many premier league games?

Lacks pace? He’s quick, are you thinking of another footballer?

I’d agree he’s not lightening quick & is on the slower side of wingers in PL, despite that has more than enough to play in that league & excel if he dropped down. Absolute class left foot & crossing ability something we’ve not got!

Rushworth will only have a year left on his contract at the end of the season. Brighton can’t be asking a ridiculous fee for him when he can leave on a free 10/11 months after the season starts.
Not many keepers go for more than 10 million who have never played a top flight game at the age of 25 (start of next season) in their career. He’s up there with our player of the season so far.

Fairly certain they have an option to extend too. I know a few Brighton fans and they are all certain he won't be sold and could even be pushing for their first choice next season

He’d need to be going some to displace the current first choice but yes I have heard the same from the BHA fans I know.

The availability of Rushworth from Brighton, if they do sell , will alert a host of other prem teams …… not just us going up , so a wait & see game until the end of season.

Why? They seem him as a starter for themselves in the premier League?
They do like having 2 quality keepers, but if I were them I dont know why you wouldnt just be happy with Verbruggen. He's a quality keeper.

A window of Dan Neil, Mcneil and Manneh would be pretty fantastic.

McNeil would be a fantastic signing.

One that you’d naturally think is out of our reach but teams running away at the top can pull off some of these mad ones.

Even on a loan with a view to a permenant should we go up.

He's still fairly young, reliable performer in a position we need

Would be the magical 'Le Fee' type deal people keep talking about i think. Loan with an obligation if we are to get promoted which Everton would see as likely looking at us imo. Also the only way we could afford the fee/wages.

Many of us have commented on the challenges of this window.

Maybe one of the solutions is to seek players on loan with an obligation to buy if we are promoted.

It would enable us to target better players with limited risk.
Essentially what Sunderland did with Le Fee, that was a top level signing for them in the championship, hopefully can pull off one in the same calibre

Gee I wish someone would've mentioned this approach before on this thread

The player knew the manger from their time on France which helped massively. You do feel it there’s a time for Lampard to go for some old contacts it would be now. Help get us up and then your playing for a Prem team where you’re likely to get more playing time
