Id never rule out BR being hoodwinked as a possibility tbf.
Can we please make it clearer who we're talking about. Whenever I see BR I think Bryan Richardson. Can Big Ron either be BRA or BFR please?

Looking at the Swansea £45'er on boxing day - I can't believe we already only have single seats left for that. Seems the pricing was ok afterall

I'm none the wiser. Is BFR Big Fat Ron or Bryan Fucking Richardson? I assumed the former but the alternative was BRA which I assumed was Big Ron Atkinson.

Fwiw in terms of being hoodwinked I was referring to Richardson.

Big day out for City fans returning home for Christmas visiting relatives and football tourists. Usually a great atmosphere as a lot of attendees are pissed

My two penneth is it's still a hangover from covid. People REALLY missed going to the football, and watching it on TV with no crowds or atmosphere was just shit so we all flocked back afterwards. And once you've caught the bug again it's difficult to give up, even if your wallet's being squeezed elsewhere.
Good point. I think one of our first game after covid was QPR away. We lost 2-1 I think but, dare I say, the result didn’t matter we were just so happy to see live football again.

I’d also say it’s just general football fan fickleness.

football fans generally find funds when their team is doing well. Covid helped the crowds but the fact we’ve gone from strength to strength since has really kept healthy attendances.

Yeah we’ve had three or four of the best seasons ever as a Cov fan are we really wondering why attendances are up?

Brum were given 2,744, and sold all of them. I can't see why Baggies wouldn't be offered the same.

Clubs that don't normally sell out their allocation tend to get a smaller initial allocation.
In fact they were given more than Brum.

From their website
The Baggies visit the CBS Arena on Saturday, November 22 (ko 12.30pm) and have been given an allocation of 2,815.

Based on a capacity of 32,609*, we have the 8th fullest stadium in the EFL with us filling 91.3% of the available seats.

*This figure has been questioned.

That is according to this video from Ben HD.

Oh yeah, I absolutely get why ours are miles ahead of where they were. The original post was about the Championship as a whole.

The crowds at Championship level are outstanding. Go back to our last year in the Championship before relegation. The likes of Leeds and Leicester only averaging 23,000.
Boro only 17,000 and ourselves as low as 15k.

1West Ham United30,923
2Southampton26,420
3Derby County26,020
4Leeds United23,283
5Leicester City23,037

I imagine the actual capacity is closer to around 32.2k

That 32.6k was the theoretical capacity in 2005 when it probably hadn't been fully measured and there was no scoreboard.
