I'm not sure what the bit about his girlfriend is,is there more,if it's dirty then that's not good, but the tune the phraseology of it are good if they've pushed it with the lyrics it's hard to pick out, misogyny or or something more, I can't tell.

Yeah it was an evening game relatively early in the season. Even at that point it was obvious Thorn would get us relegated.

There was a player there at some point, but he clearly just couldn't be arsed.

Certainly was during his loan spell with us. I know for a fact that before one game (can’t remember which now) he’d been out til 4am in Birmingham drinking Hennessy by the bottle.

There was an interview with Davies? and someone else who said his ability was amazing, but ignored team meetings.
Think he was so good we had him back thinking we could manage his personality,

Davies and Grimmer I think. I seen to remember them saying that Robins allowed him to as he was that much better technically than what we already had, but that it also alienated other members of the team.
I do think that when we made the step up when we signed him permanently, then we also had much better technical players and he was no longer head and shoulders above what we had and thus not worth the headache

Would have thought that with the amount of money around that clubs don’t invest / strategise more in making sure drinking to excess doesn’t devalue club assets: ie, players. Bright would have been a serious asset had he kept straight and narrow.

It’s a waste of a talent. Kevin Thornton springs to mind. Whelan too to a degree.

Maybe the strength of the leadership in the dressing room makes a difference. Dublin, we are told, was a strong role model and maybe that and Strachan putting him up kept Whelan in check for a while. Bright, like many with substance issues, needs / needed a mentor.

What other players have we had that stacked it through drink or drugs?

I was only joking because he used to be known to be seen in Samoan Joes.
Feel like he's always has had the talent to back it up though, and I swear his form improved when he played for us after he was seen there.

Marcus Hall defended like he was pissed up, however I cannot confirm this. 👍🏻

Exactly that was one of the great individual performances by one of our players. Bright was simply on a different level.

Very few games where I have seen one of our players dominate a game so completely - Huckerby at Leeds boxing day was another example, Vik and Hamer on different levels many times in the Wembley play off season.

As others have said it's so sad to see when players such as Bright have so much talent and basically throw it away. Thornton looked so talented and should have gone higher.

Sean Thornton (Kevin’s older brother) was also a great young talent and played in the Prem before hitting the booze and throwing it away.

Kevin Thornton, Dublin's brother, Eddie (considered the better prospect) threw careers away. Davies and Grimmer I believe were piss heads. Different times, but the 1987 cup winning squad could hit the booze as could Tommy Hutchison.
There again Godden told the story where him and Vic got legless.
