Such an incredibly difficult next patch of games, with 5 points clear we have to hope if we drop any points that others behind us don’t gain ground.

11/15 is a good haul I reckon. If we got that off those fixtures I’d be very happy.

I’d take 10 points, 3 W, 1 D, 1 L.

Ipswich and PNE the tough ones. 9 points from the others though I reckon.

Ipswich will take autos.

The next 10 games or so are what I’ve been waiting for before I can get excited.
We now need roughly 18 points from every 10 games to make 90 points, which I believe will secure top 2. Even in your most pessimistic moment do you see us achieving less than that?

Every game is tough.

Hopefully it's great time to play alot of these.

Wst brom really struggling with confidence and manager under huge pressure. Not clicked yet. Good time to play them.

Preston and Charlton struggling with alot of injuries and suspensions at the moment. So unless alot of them clear up could be good time to play them especially if they get more injuries.

Alot more confident now see how Prestons small squad is really struggling.

Add to the fact Boro dont have a manager at the moment. Im looking at it really positively all the teams above having alot of issues at the moment.

I said 10 for the last 5 and we got 12, so with these being arguably harder, I'll go with 10 again.

It's difficult to call with Boro ATM given their circumstances but if we can beat Stoke we can beat Boro. Not saying we will but we have a good record against them.

Ipswich are starting to get it together now and will be our rivals for the autos I reckon. They will be out toughest test so far this season I reckon.

We need to ideally claim 10pts in the next 5 games but we’ve got enough in the points tally to claim minimum 6 points to ensure we stick to 2ppg.

Quite possible. I reckon 2nd place in the division will only get high 80s this season. Going to be a lower total than previous seasons imo.

My prediction:

WBA - 3
Boro - 3
Charlton - 1
Ipswich - 1
PNE - 3

Wishful thinking on my part to back a win at Deepdale (cursed place), right now I’m backing us to beat anyone and everyone in this division.

Opta predicting us 1st on 88 and M'bro 2nd on 76 (Ipswich 3rd on 73)
Much lower points than previous seasons, when the mostly relegated teams were far too strong.

Ipswich are currently 11 points behind plus our GD, we'll have to fall off a cliff big time to lose it from there!!!

They’ve got a game in hand and play us twice. Even if we win everything else by the end of December it would be 2 points if they won those three and matched us the rest of the way. And they’ll strengthen in Jan.

Interesting. The table looked much tighter last season with the profile of teams in and around the Top 4. Ipswich will emerge as the main contender again and we’ll know by Dec 30th exactly how we stack up against them.

With Edwards going to Wolves, I don’t see how Boro continue their form because the underlying data for them is not as strong, xG has them at 8th. The teams with solid numbers such as Southampton, Blues and Blackburn lose far too many games. Teams like Leicester, Stoke and PNE are over performing their xG to such a degree, it can’t be sustainable.

We could well strengthen in Jan ourselves. They'll be worried playing us home and away in month themselves. If we win both we're laughing

WBA (H) - Fans seem to have turned on Mason who by the looks of things plays the sort of faux-Pep ball that is popular with young coaches his age but starting to get found out. Sort of side we tend to play well against. Convincing win.

Middlesbrough (A) - Tough game but one of a few sides whose underlying metrics have them a bit lower down the table than they are. Bit of turmoil as well with Edwards and unsure on who they’ll go for. Tight win.

Charlton (H) - Incredibly well drilled, horrible to play against and an annoying manager. Draw.

Ipswich (A) - Seem to have turned a corner, hardest game of the year but we do seem to rise to the big occasion - win.

Preston (A) - PNE are a honking side. Way overperforming their metrics and should see some regression coming their way. Win.

11 points = 8, if they win their game in hand. If they turn us over twice over the next few weeks, that takes the gap to 2 points. If we draw one of the 2 games, the gap would be 5. It's not about us falling off a cliff, and time will tell, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if they aren't right up there with us in about 10 to 15 games time.
Edit: If we beat Ipswich in either game, I'm 99% certain we'll go up.

How many of those teams will be looking at their next five and have a “W” next to us. One at a stretch.

Big thing with Ipswich games is that we match whatever happens in first game so we are neutral over the games.

saying match, obviously we loose away and win at home.
