I'm less bothered about Eccles filling in than Allen. Although Eccles seems to be breaking down a bit recently, like a Sheaf regen.

Yeah I like Eccles. He just seems to have trouble impacting a game and he’s picked up a lot of niggles recently.

It’s Torps fitness record that worries me about not having another CM. But equally if Eccles can’t fill in there what’s the point of him?
I’m happy with Eccles, but he needs a run of games as he hasn’t played many full 90s under Lampard for various reasons.

Just as a side note, the already high number of calf injuries we’ve sustained might well be a consequence of the high intensity training regimen we’ve had since the summer. So the impressive fitness levels we’ve seen to now might have come at a price in that regard.

The quote was it was easy for the original poster to say, not literally but a common idiom is “it’s easy for you to say” meaning that the speaker hasn’t given full thought to the constraints on someone undertaking their advice.

In this instance this was supported by pointing out that whoever did would be dropping at the time the leagues top goal scorer. In football scoring goals is generally considered an important part of the game and strikers who score more than the average amount are highly sought after. The suggestion then was that it would be hard to follow the advice given when you would also have to explain dropping the leagues top scorer. To cover all bases it was also pointed out that even if you didn’t drop him but instead moved him to the left forward position that his might be suboptimal because the striker in question was rumoured to be very unhappy when not playing his favoured central striker position.

Overall the sentence that’s confused you can be read as a lighthearted phrase in common vernacular designed to suggest some reasons why the manager might not be quick to drop Or move Haji Wright to accommodate another player.
I don't think I mentioned Haji in the text you quoted which is what confused me. Not the sentiment, obviously Haji Wright plays although he was sub par against Wrexham.

Honestly mate these conversations happen over days and I’ve long forgotten what started it. I may well have gone off in a random direction.

Well, they’re not going to forget the result, you’d think they just won a trophy.

Some of the over zealousness on the game highlights on YouTube is quite odd.
