They have been trying to keep the lad Sheppard quiet for a while. His name was banded around before FL came. We have to get him tied down otherwise its not going to be just Utd that will be on the phone.

Is he genuinely that good?

And yet we're 10 games unbeaten and scoring goals for fun ?
Don't think any player who has filled in so far this season has performed badly , in fact I thought Allen was brilliant yesterday and stabilised our midfield .
Think we need a flexible wide player/attacking midfielder but wouldn't be too disheartened if we didn't sign one

It’s less about game 10 and more about game 30 tbh. Although the likes of Allen have already played far more than is ideal.

Love Jamie. He is at his best coming on after about 60 mins. Good forward pass percentage, although he sometimes leaves a couple short.
In a full 90 minutes he can be bullied off the ball. Last 30 minutes when the opposition are tired or have second choice players on the pitch he can stay out of too many 50/50 balls. Good ball retention to see a game out.
Against Leeds last season, for example, he was found wanting, but he wasn't the only one.

Why is Allen playing not ideal ?
He's a hugely experienced Championship player who has rarely let us down when called upon .
As a fanbase we undervalue some players , players who have been important in our resurgence

I mean any rational person would say isn't it good to be able to call upon a player with nigh on 200 championship appearances under his belt who's been with the club in two play off runs

I think there’s a serious case for doing very little in the Jan window. Dovin should be back. Maybe some LW cover that means Wright can still play centrally?

2-3 attacking players will do the trick.

We played well v Blackburn but there was the feeling that we were struggling to change the game before two top quality ranged finishes.

The squad is still a bit thin, we need options from the bench and the depth when injuries kick in. No, KKH and Brau aren’t players you bring on at RW/LW when chasing a goal.

The Blackburn and Millwall results have flattered us to some extent. Both games we should’ve conceded 1 or 2 goals.

Allen’s energy when he came on was so good but we’d just gone 2-0 up. He literally sprinted for 20 mins

The squad is desperately thin. 10 games in and we’ve already selected a squad containing 3 goal keepers and another containing a 16 year old.

In January we need a central midfielder of some sort and a wide player.

If we could make two real quality signings of a winger and an attacking central midfielder that would be enough I think.
Yeh not about numbers but quality in a couple of key positions. If we're well placed we could have a chance of convincing high quality players to join for the run in.

My ideal would be 2 wingers, one of whom can play AM.

If we’re in the top 2 or thereabouts, in January we really need to sign players who are ready to start in our team, and perhaps even the Prem from Day 1.

Yep absolutely agree we'll be looking at high quality players with Prem potential.

Hmmm, where will Brau slot in I wonder still got a feeling he's being brought along as a bit of a secret weapon, but we'll see I guess.

Claudio Braga one to watch in the Farmers League. Seems to have something about him. 25.

He seems decent enough but we certainly need much better.

Anis Mehmeti out of contract at the end of the season at Bristol City. 5G/3A in the league already. Cheeky January bid to battle EMC for that LW spot?

Wouldn’t have minded picking up Ziyech on a free for squad depth and winger cover, he’s going to play in Morocco so can’t imagine them paying big wages

Need a Grimes understudy.

Preferably under 21 so they don't take up a squad place in the 25 senior players (so not a loan). If we want a bigger squad good 19- 20 year olds are the way to go.

We might go back in for that young CB from Bodo. It's not the signing we need for the occasion really and i'd hope we'd get others but we tend to track players for a while and if we believe in the potential we might try and get it done. Their domestic season will be over then too i think.

May as well just use Eccles or Allen for that role, would rather recruit someone who can cover Rudoni.

I think we've proven that we don't really need specific cover for Rudoni. I'm not confident that Allen or Eccles could cover Grimes and the vital role he plays.

If we’re still in with a shout/at the top I wonder if we might sign some proper quality…we seem to have the money for it eg reported bids for others…get some prem ready players in!

The priority really is a winger. It's where we're lightest and I'd like us to make a statement signing, better than what we already have.

I'd be all for having another look at J. Rak-Sakyi.
Am I right in thinking Palace could recall him to sell him if we put a decent offer on the table?

quietly hoping this is a thing that happens in Jan.
I don't know why we pissed about so much all summer then fumbled a last day offer but I think it's confirmed we definitely did bid. The loan to Turkey was presumably just done because their window was open longer so he could go out and play games. I hope we've been working hard on this for January.
