This is part of the issue, and I'm not wanting to single Bury out, but a lot that moan about the points system and much of the noise is from people who don't travel. Not a criticism everyone's personal situation or even geography, are different, but some think they have a right to pick and choose at the expense of others and is my main objection to not wanting a ballot for a % that's often suggested. It's far from a closed shop, my only caveat is that kids can't collect points and ghat somehow needs looking at as they've not had the opportunity.
If there was a ballot (which I think is fair) for say 25% of away tickets, the people who do the hard yards and are going to Portsmouth and Middlesbrough et al midweek will get a ticket anyway as they will have the points? 🤔

I'm not sure. We do around 20 away each season, never all of them, with cup games incl probably miss about 5 aways. Often midweek with work commitments, so somewhere between 50-100 points a season short. Over the rolling 4 year period that's approx 300 points average below the top tier but I'd argue that with a decent job, I couldn't be much more committed. It means for Wrexham we got in with our 1850 & 1880 point accounts. If 25% had gone to a ballot, I think we could've easily missed out and of course on a personal level I'd deem that unfair.

There's no perfect situation of course that suits everyone but, with the exception of the issue on kids and some buying tickets with no intention of attending, then I think ours are pretty fair.
