Where did it say the second one was a Muslim? Who would be stupid enough to set fire to his own place of worship?

The same as if he was Jewish/Christian/Atheist/Sikh, to cause division and tension. His intention was probably not to be caught so it would be blamed on a Jewish retaliation.
And a Jewish retaliation, the media would've had a field day with. It'll be a week until we find out IF we ever find out this guys religion and reasoning. It'll most likely be brushed under the carpet and hoped to be forgotten about.
