We are doing incredibly but neither of those teams finished in the top two. Sooo long to go and teams like Ipswich and Southampton will probably click sooner or later. Going to be ups and downs along the way but we are doing so much right. Sunderland rode their luck and went up hopefully we don't have to do the same.

Of course we're going to have harder times during the season. Our hardest moments so far have been a battling 0-0 away to Leicester and Norwich time wasting and getting yellow cards from the 1st half onwards.

But as long as we continue to play the same system we will finish at or near the top. If you would have told me we would lose Rudoni, Torp and EMC to injury and then lose Eccles but still win 3 on the bounce scoring 12 goals without reply I'd have told you to calm down with your expectations 😁

October is an easier month. We've have a great chance of pulling away from the rest of the other clubs. Just 3 games ago we were 6 points behind Middlesbrough. Now we're a point above them with a laughable GD of +14 between us. If everything goes against us in the next lot of games we will still be in 2nd.

There were 2 teams on 19pts. City had 8 points and had a -3 GD
My takeaway from this is take nothing for granted & that Leicester are still the team to watch.

I remember being uninspired by both Burnley and Leeds at the start of last season, I felt the same about Leicester but the last few games they seem to be building quietly. Still the team to watch for me.

Seeing the Lampard pep talk on the latest City Unseen video has me believing we can keep the good form going. He spoke about high standards and laser focus. The players seem confident, yet grounded

It's not wrong to say that league has presented us with less than daunting fixture list and we possibly have squandered some of the opportunity open to us, but we've come through that and turned it up a notch or two,now for the main event or course.

I've done another thread comparing goals with the top 3 in championship seasons. All over 100 goals in a season. The 2nd highest was Fulham in 2021/22. After rounds 13, they were on 26points with 29F:14A goals. By the end of October (round 13), what we need to do to equal that is 7 points and 2 goals from 4 games. 2 1-0W. 1 0-0D. 1L. That will surely keep us top, possibly pulling away, and keep us in touch with the 2nd highest goal tally in championship history. I also think 2 wins, a draw, and a loss is achievable. Sure, I'd love to say let's win them all. But let's be realistic also.

What you can also add to this list is how easily we have beat teams and what they have done afterwards. This week we beat Millwall at their place 4-0. In their next game they beat WBA 3-0. We swept QPR away 7-1. They've only lost 1 more game and are in 6th having got their GD back to just -1.

My confidence doesn't just come from the results. Results can easily change. To me mainly it's our style of play and still being able to play the same way and continue to get the results as the injuries continue to come in. If you told me we would lose Rudoni, Torp and EMC to injury I wouldn't expect our results to improve. The players coming in have all done well. Eccles and Allen were supposed to be weaker links. They both stepped up immediately. Woolfenden and KKH had to wait for game time but immediately showed their value to us. We've swapped half our outfield players yet continued to score goals.

That's been the most impressive aspect of the season . Players coming in have fitted straight into the team and there have been significant contributions from all over the squad.

Weve played 3 of the top 8 , and scored 11

2 of those are in the playoff spots
Not only that but if we had lost to Leicester and QPR they would both be on 18 points now. Millwall would be one behind on 17 if they had beaten us.
