One for the MotoGP fans.

How on earth do you stop him?

I remember thinking when Ducati announced he was moving to the factory team for this season that everyone else was going to have a problem, but I'll admit. I didn't think it was going to be THIS big of a problem. I can genuinely see him winning every race left in the season.

Thing is, the Ducati is probably not even the best bike on the grid now, I think the Aprillia just about edges it and the KTM isn't a million miles away. But he's found a way to win that makes it look easy, and means he's not riding to the point of crashing like he was on the Honda.

They should nickname him the Meccano man from the number of them operations he's had after crashes, legend he is.

After that Jerez crash in 2020, I thought it was more likely he'd retire than win another championship. Didn't think he'd ever get back to this level again after that one.

The Honda he rode wasn't the best bike on the grid either but he was/is clearly the best rider. At the end of his days with Honda the bike had almost become unrideable & MM was the only rider getting points. He was close on the 23 Ducati last season that as soon as he got the factory ride I thought he would do what he is doing. The counter to that is how poor Bagnaia has been, he looked like he'd given up after Austria, it's a shame Ducati can give him a 24 bike so his confidence can return and he can be a bit more competitive.

Incredible achievement by Marquez winning the motogp title considering the operations he went through after his crash in 2020. To have the bone in his arm cut & rotated 33 degrees just to ensure normal daily tasks could be done without pain & to not only be able to ride again but be the best is hard to comprehend.
Interesting that Bagnaia's Ducati is now a 2025 bike with 2024 aero package, ride height device etc. Great to see him happy & competitive again & maybe he can challenge next year.

It was in Japan so race started at 6am. I got up to watch it after getting home just before midnight on Saturday from our match. A positive of getting the train down & back on Saturday was that I could watch the sprint race on the train at 7am. Highlights show on quest tonight at 10.

Don't mind admitting I got a little bit teary eyed when at the end of the race yesterday. It's been almost as if the last five years haven't happened, and he's been back at that insane 2019 level of performance again.

I don't know why Ducati didn't go down the route they have with Pecco sooner, might have given Marc something to think about, although in all honesty, I doubt it would have stopped Marc winning the title anyway.
