If Haji plays wide left it really leaves JDS a bit exposed. I can't really see it.

It’ll be BTA surely. Hopefully he has one of his “Jesus that is a goal of the season contender” rather than “did he win a footballer for a day competition” performances.

Plenty of time for him to improve but so far Brau has looked a bit all over the shop so not sure starting against these today is the way. And I don’t want to see Simms heading and passing it to their centre halves from the off.

You would think so. He's pushed Rudi out there in the past too.

If Simms starts I fancy 2 up rather than haji out wide.
and maybe put Woolfenden in as a 3 and push the full backs higher.

I dunno we’ll see.

Id obviously love a win but I’ll take a draw but hoping we just play well.

I just think Simms playing changes the whole dynamic. Can’t see the relentless attacking and fluid freedom we’ve been treated to so far with EMC out and Simms in. It’ll just break down even if Simms has a decent game by his standards. Straight swap for BTA is the most sensible.

Whether people on either side or the outside think it’s a rivalry or not - it is.

But I do think many, particularly on our side, are building it up far too much.

First proper test today. If EMC is out I’d be tempted with simms up top and wright on left, guessing Lampard will go for Thomas assante though. draw would be a great result, win and it will feel like we could be contenders this season

the fact we have 1 injury and nobody can guess who will replace him shows how we fked up the transfer window
I agree we could have recruited more but people love to pull themselves off over utility players and the facts are we have about 3 players that can play left

for me there’s limited evidence outside of Haji that those suggested to replace EMC can do that.

I think it will be Haji ST and BTA LW

I mean haji has played there enough to know that he can .. the problem isnt at LW the problem is that we dont trust simms to fill in as striker

It is one of football's most shameful episodes that they got away scott-free with their financial misdemeanors of the past and every other side since has been shafted with a hefty punishment, your clubs like us, Leeds, Derby, Luton Town, Portsmouth et al. should absolutely hate them - Yet as the media darlings of a certain time no one ever had the balls to call it out and it is why I will never buy this 'fairytale club' narrative everyone peddled as a result of their subsequent success

Whatever happens today, 8-10 years ago they were at the top end of the top flight and playing in Europe and we were, Bury aside who only take the mantle for being thrown out the league altogether being dealt the worst hand as a club and fanbase in English Football - The fact we are now down the line going into a game with them on an even keel and pretty evenly matched on the pitch is a testament to ourselves
Absolutely this (y)
