Very tight league with Boro winning it on 75 and only 25 points from top to bottom!

I once went on Jim'll Fix It to spend time with a Unicorn. Jim let me rub its tusk, but only blindfolded as they're scared of human eyes.
I think what I'm saying is we must continue to believe, until we don't believe that the leadership has the appetite for the same, which is probably preferable to many, but I think I'd like promotion even if it's one year but with that comes quite severe baggage so I'll go with this for now.

Yeah, I think the points total is incorrect - think it'll be quite a bit higher, maybe 85-90 points.

I'd take 2nd though!
It’s ‘expected points’ which isn’t the same as predicting the total points tally.

Last year, on expected points we should have been 3rd iirc.

Totally agree, although the eyes thing was a surprise to me. A couple of his advisors confirmed it was request and said they had pet unicorns I could also rub. Little known fact I guess.

Close then,4th wasn't it?
Just checked again and according to the various data metrics, we were the 3rd best team in the league and massively underperformed our xG, xGA and xPTS.

There were a lot of games last year where we conceded goals we shouldn’t have, missed the most big chances so this all checks out to be fair.

Over the playoffs, we were better than Sunderland imo and think we could have turned Sheff U over in the final had we got there.

Based on lies, damned lies and statistics. If computer analysis could predict outcomes accurately, we would all be down the bookies and rolling in it.

You don't know the British character very well, do you? Even if it was a dead cert the majority of people still wouldn't back it.

This is good enough for me. Fail to get top 2 and Lampard has failed!

“Supercomputer” predicts a team winning the championship with 75pts. Ignoring the fact that on average 90+ is required for top 2 usually

These supercomputers are all a bit batshit at the start of the season.

You need to give it 10 games worth of data for it to work out what's going on.

It’s expected points and generally the top teams in a division outperform this and vice versa for the teams at the bottom.
