If/when he does, who will he displace, Kitching or Thomas? I'm assuming we're not gonna play a back 3 very often.

Horses for courses.

For more technical teams, you might pick him and Kitching. For more physical teams, you might want Thomas in.

It's about having options, and all three will have significant playing time this season.
