Crazy world! Imagine being called a bed wetter for actually wanting to see your team improve on last season! Rather than just stand still in the championship!

Oh well, better get them sheets stripped and in the wash!

If that’s us done then I wouldn’t be suprised, king said himself if we can’t find the right player then at least we own the ground, and that squad is more than capable of at least top 6 just would of liked a couple more to give us a better chance in the play offs, there’s still January if we need something
This squad isn’t capable of top six.

Compared to 12 months ago, I'd say yes. Players are settled. The likes of Bidwell, Allen and Eccles have been phased out. Those three played a decent amount of minutes last September. We have Grimes.

It's a difficult balance to strike. We could have gone down the 2023 route by selling Rudi and MVE and gambling on £35m worth of talent.

You aren't guaranteed quality when spending millions, as we've seen in the past 12 months.

They haven't been phased out. They're literally part of the first team still and have got minutes / will get minutes this season due to our shit depth.

I just feel weve absolutely stood still

KKH has looked pants
Brau cant get in ahead of Dasilva
Rushworth has Collinsitis
And we've sold our captain with no replacement

Unless the bricks at the CBS can play CM, we're in the shit come December when the injuries and fatigue kick in

Why are you on about swapping squads??? Nobody wants to swap our entire squad you moron! But theyre all making signings, and some good ones to boot. Whilst were putting all our eggs in 1 basket and missing others whilst doing so. Only to drop the basket and break the eggs at the death anyways.

Other clubs have sold players from their 1st team. They need replacing. We've sold 2 players that were not going to play a big part this season. The players we have brought in has strengthened our squad. Woolfenden looks like he will be in our 1st team.

We have also been trying to bring in other players but will not be paying over the odds. How about the last transfer window where many wanted to do the same as Hull. Didn't go well for them.

From what I can gather , youd be happy with a CM and a CB .

Is that correct
Well, tbf, if were talking in an ideal, perfect, world, a lot more! But CH, CM/No8, versatile attacker that could cover all 3 roles if and when needed.

Saying KKH has looked shit after like 2 games is such an overreaction.

How are we weaker in defence?

Including the GK, I'd argue we've got a better keeper, got rid of Binks who many hated and replaced him with Wolfenden and also brought in Brau and KHH. Oh, and got rid of Collins.

We're definitely stronger in defence. Potentially we could get a 4th CB for added cover but there's no way we're weaker.

This. We have no cover for Rudoni should he get crocked.

We've just conceded 8 in 4 games!

They were starting 12 months ago and are very much squad players now.

You've just said 3 signings are poor and you're desperate to sign more. That's the irony, signings don't guarantee quality. Keeping players like Rudoni, Haji and MVE is.

id say so, sheafs way ahead of Eccles and Allen, Eccles is still out so that leaves us just Allen? sheaf needs replacing
If anything, the CMs need rebalancing. Allen, Eccles, Grimes and Sheaf were deployed in more or less the same role. Torp does things differently to them and there’s no alternative for him.

I still highly rate Sheaf but his attributes isn’t what’s needed.

With respect to Allen, he’s 4th choice and these players don’t get a ton of minutes so for one more season, it’s fine. Sheaf and Eccles aren’t going to be happy being 4th choice with reduced minutes whereas Allen accepts that role. Obviously not as talented, but you need players in a squad who are happy to not be 1st choice.

At some point our supporters will realise we cant compete financially with birmingham ( some of the biggest Revenue outside the premier league ) and Wrexham ( funded by Hollywood actors ) and stop comparing our transfer business
With interest on top, not sure about the actors though.

Couple of injuries away from being back to an Allen and Eccles midfield pairing.

Would be ok if a CM came in with Woolfenden but would still be an average summer for me. Just my opinion.

On KKH he did take a couple of hard knocks to be fair to him, I think he'll be fine given his track record. Both he and MVE need cover from the winger, Tats has improved a lot at this BTA/Rapha doen't give us that yet. That's certainly something for the training gound in this break.

People will keep saying how we have had a great window with who we have kept, etc.

The reality is, we are 2-3 injuries away from being extremely thin.

if we hadn’t of sold Sheaf, brought in Wolfy and an attacking play/winger then that’s very decent.

But that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Once Woolfenden is announced it’s one of the best windows we’ve had. Retaining every player that we would be weakened by losing. Wright, Saka, Rudoni and MVE.
I wonder if we ever did get a solid bid for Rudoni

Fingers crossed. Looks like the CH is confirmed, so just 2x more to go. Then I say this window was a success. Still a lot of dead wood that needs cutting away and replacing, but Rome wasnt built in a day. Nobody on here is stupid enough to think otherwise. But a little more depth this window wouldn't of gone a miss. When we're 1 injury away from a much weakened starting 11, its a concern.

Been clear Godo has been off to Strasbourg for a few days, so hopefully been working on alternatives in the meantime.
Exactly, it's a position identified, he may have been number 1 target but it's not going to be him or nobody. Also just because we have the same players, does not mean we haven't improved as a squad. We have a young squad who are more experienced and they've had a pre-season with this coaching team.

What were people saying about Torp up until this season? 😂

In fact, what about the ‘Haji can’t play upfront in Lampard’s system’ brigade.

All the time, people rush to conclusions and year on year, the same bedwetters get made to look foolish. Seriously, when will these people learn?

Allen and Eccles have played midfield for us plenty of times in the past few years.

They've both played in two play offs and an FA Cup semi final.

They are two good squad players to have.
