I hate that expression 'would love a Simms upgrade', it's so demeaning. Do we know if he looks at this site? Simms has far more potential than many players we have had previously and with self-belief can make a go of it, if people support him, and which we should be doing as it's in the name - supporter. You are a fine contributor over the years Brighton but would you like it if people were looking for an upgrade on you?

I'm pretty sure the wife would be delighted if she could get an upgrade on me (which in fairness, wouldn't be too difficult).

In fairness to BSB, I don't think he's suggesting that we shouldn't support Simms when he's on the pitch - most (though not all) can see that booing our own players isn't likely to make them better.

I'd love to see Simms prove the doubters wrong too, but in the current set up it doesn't seem to be working for him. Would it be better for all parties if he moved on, perhaps?

Just reading tea leaves but reckon we’ve got two scenarios:

MvE stays: Woolfenden and Godo in
MvE goes: Woolfenden, Boving, and maybe one more in.

Obviously in both scenarios Ben Chilwell signs.

Out would’ve anyone we can get interest in out of the left backs, one of the clown keepers, plus a CM, probably Allen and Bassette.

Loans ideally at L1 for Obikwu and Andrews, maybe even Rapha if the one more in is a forward or we get both Boving and Godo.

Probably be nothing in and a couple of loans out tho.

We definitely need to improve our defence. We are short of quality cover if either Kitching or Thomas is out.

I know it is early days but no-one in the top 14 of the table has conceded more than us and only Millwall and Southampton have conceded the same.

If we want to progress we 100% need an upgrade, confidence comes from within, he has been given chances and failed at almost all of them, theres only so much game time you can give if they are not cutting it and like it or not Mr Simms, nice guy, is not cutting it unfortunately

Ps..I wouldn't upgrade you Brighton 😀

I do find it a bit odd that we haven't loaned Obikwu yet. You'd think he'd have takers. Makes me wonder if we're waiting for something to land first.

So what happens if Thomas gets i jured and Kit hing will get his inevitable ban for yellowor red cards...we are deep in the shit then!
It's a fair point, we probably should try to bring in another CB, I guess Lati will return to fitness at some point. Seems odd to have sold Binks really.
