OK for a change those of us like me with soggy sheets, let’s say we make one signing. How much/who would be enough to make you happy?

Anything over £5m for me.
Bit arbitrary mate! I mean look at how much we spent on Vik over what we spent on Kitching. who you don't seem happy with. We don't know how anyone is going to do here based on the fee alone.

We've had a decent hit rate so I'm just going to trust them to get it right. My sheets are not fully dry, bit annoying we've not landed more but there is still over a week. I'll be raging if we don't add though

Some of the negativity is wild to me tbh. I'd like us to bring in a couple more players, but its not even the end of the window yet! 4 points, through in the cup, a manager that has accumulated more Championship points than any of his competitors since taking charge. Do some people have no chill?
We have 9 days, there is no point in getting this wound up about the transfer window until it’s done.

We’re fine and I think we’ll finish upper half again. Just don’t think we’ve got enough in us be it funds or wage bill not sure to pus for promotion. And feel that we could have improved the squad towards that.

TBF £1m on Vik was big money at the time. I think £1.3M on Hamer was the most we’d spend since Eastwood or something.

But we’re a different beast and inflation has happened so about £5m finger in the air is what an upgrade costs I reckon. If we got a single player who goes into the side similar to how Grimes, MvE, Rushworth, Thomas, Rudi, Wright all did then I’d be happy.

Do you reckon Lampard’s happy with the window so far? I get that there’s still a little bit of time left but I’d expect him to have been backed a little more than he has so far, or is that not fair to say?

Maybe he’s sound with the squad as it is, but if I was in his shoes I’d have hoped the name “Lampard” would have a little more weight when it comes to signings, and the owner, who specifically brought me in, would have given me a bit more free reign, maybe? Is it all Austin doing the work or does Lampard have some input? I get that I’m completely speculating and we can’t say either way what’s going on behind closed doors, but it just feels very lethargic and sorta eerily quiet behind those doors. (Hate this last minute waiting, just too much anticipation for me 😭😂)

So far, no.
By 1st September, probably yes.

I do honestly believe that the so called domino effect hasn’t quite happened in deals we needed to happen yet. Maybe we will end up playing in the loan market only? Going to be mighty interesting regardless

Actually surprised we didn't. Be better for both club and player to get him regular gametime elsewhere.
He's not a terrible keeper, but his head and confidence had clearly gone at the end of last season and he's now fourth choice when Dovin is back.
Did I get told right at the barbers that Dovin's out for a lot longer than Xmas?

Tyrique George still not gone anywhere. He’s out of the team completely for tonight. I know there was talk of interest from big teams in Prem/abroad but it does make you wonder what pull Lampard still has

don’t think FL has any specific pull from Chelsea anymore, completely different club now.

where I think he may help is getting players over the line, would grimes have come under robins? Maybe, maybe not…..

regards George, no chance we get him on loan!

Lampard certainly has an effect when attracting players

A backup winger and Starting CB is all we need methinks, even if we only get a CB I would be happy come the end of the window as we’ve kept ahold of some quality players that could be all the difference for us this season. Plenty to be positive about P3 games W2 D1 L0. Won our first away game of the season in the first away game of the season not in like November, maybe we wont have a slow start and might be up there this year!

He has no reason to be unhappy.

When he came in it has been stated he was very happy with the squad he was taking over. We were 3 points above the relegation places. He took us to the playoffs getting the 4th highest amount of points from the time he took over. Two of the clubs that got more points, Leeds and Burnley, got the top 2 places. The other club, Sheffield United, are in total disarray.

In this time we've got rid of some deadwood and sold 1 player most agreed wasn't good enough. He has kept all of his best players so far. No signings have had to be made that are replacements. He has signed 4 players including Grimes who slotted straight in and KKH who's a very good prospect. Rushworth also came in who looks solid although some would like you to believe he is the same level as Collins.

We still have 10 days left to bring in other players. We have the money but won't make panic buys like Wrexham. We only have 1 loan so no restrictions there either. Look around the other Championship sides. There's not a lot to be jealous about.

He's said himself he wants more players so he's clearly not happy

I get you, agreed we are at a stage now where we need quality here and there rather than numbers. A top CB is crucial. But I'd be happy with a few players like Godo if the scouting has been done, could unearthed a gem

I can’t argue with your points, I agree we’re in a decent position as a club, but I can’t help but feel like we could be doing a little more in order to really secure a top 2-4 place. Realistically we’ve tried quite a few times now to scrape through the play-offs and it hasn’t worked, with the quality we’ve got we should be aiming for top 2 and if that fails then at least we’re in the play-offs as a backup. Just having that extra bit of depth and quality will really make a difference, not just in where we finish in the table but also in play-off games if we do end up going through all that again.

I think waiting and getting good value for money is clearly great but there comes a point when you’re suddenly on the back foot, scrabbling around trying to find that bit of quality if knock-on deals from other clubs fall through. We’ll have a decent season either way, I’m not concerned for us as a club, but I’m not certain we’ll be promoted with the current team, it’s very possible just not as probable as it should be.

I think the financial risk involved in trying to assemble a team that can challenge for autos is too great. The expenditure needed to get our squad there would be significant and then if you miss out, yes you're in the playoffs, but they are very unpredictable.

I think aiming for 3rd - 6th is the only viable option for the money we can spend without risking our future. You just have to use a good model to build, sell at the right time/ price and reinvest. It took Brentford 10 years of trying before they finally got promoted. But then they weren't a flash in the pan, they had the foundations to keep building.

Every manager wants more players. It doesn't mean they're unhappy if they don't get them if they get to keep all the players they want.

As a minimum we obviously need another centre half and also a forward

Our flagship sigining is seemingly resigned to sitting on the bench which is very odd

Who have "you" nominated as our flagship signing? I can't see Grimes or Rudoni sitting on the bench.

So what do you suggest? Pay well over the odds, make a signing like Doyle to Wrexham or bring in players not good enough?

More players should become available in the next 10 days. We should only bring in players that will improve us and also at the right price. We're not a rich club. Bring in loans if we have to.

We need another CB minimum - it’s not even a debate and as Simms and Bassette seem frozen out another forward. It’s absurd to suggest another CB isn’t needed
