He was though!

And, no matter what party he is or isn't a part of, his views are unsavoury and not the views of a vast majority of Coventry City fans or, more importantly, the Club itself. To use the Club crest is out of order.

It's a racist fucking sticker, being handed out at our games, with our fucking badge on.

I'm guessing you don't have a problem with racism?

His past posting history would suggest he doesn't.

Genuine question, and I am neither pro nor anti immigration. Purely playing devils advocate.

What relevance is Haji to boat crossings? I assume you mean his skin colour but from what I’ve read etc it is nothing to do with skin colour and more to do with the fact that a good number of the people arriving by boat do not want to integrate into our society. Also worth noting that crime rates per capita from the countries of origin a lot of these people in the boats come from is massively disproportionate.
Sounds like all our expat criminals in Spain living in their little British communities with British shops & pubs and eating fish n chips for dinner 🤔

People have the right to believe what they want politically (Even if I don't necessarily agree) - That is your business

What annoys me is the rank hypocrisy of these people who said our players or the England players shouldn't have been taking the knee as 'Politics should be left out of football' are now producing these stickers - It's one rule for one etc.

To get slightly political though.

The club has celebrated the Multi-cultural nature of our city through the love of Two-Tone which came from the influences of immigrants from the West Indies and the punk scene. There’s an great museum about it in the city.

As well as several memorials of people who came here to rebuild the city or sought safety. St George’s flag in our badge, doesn’t even come from England but was purchased by Richard in Italy as he preferred it to the English flag.

My mum and dad live in Spain. You have to have a significant amount of money kept in a bank account for a number of years before you can claim residency.

I think the shops etc are mainly due to the UK being such a big part of their tourism.

That said, places like Benidorm are full of the people you mention.

Given out at the Derby match

Especially in light of the Kasey Palmer incident.

I know they’re in a minority but we really don’t need them in our club.

And before anyone jumps on this with political, nationalism statements-it’s very definitely racist-you can imagine what the blurred out word is

Whats embarrassing ?
people who are against open boarders and mass immigration many of which commit crimes when they are here or the fact it goes against your own political beliefs.

Valid point.

Although, was the immigration we saw in the 60/70’s was a lot more beneficial to this country in a sense that the people arriving back then came here to work?

I’ve done a lot of research on these topics and have friends from both ends of the political spectrum. My more right sided friends do not seem to care if you are black, white etc. Their issues are that a significant number of the people are claiming asylum with no intention of ever working or contributing to society along with the disproportionate crime rates.

Some people purposely started avoiding going to off topic to avoid this shit. Take it there.
The people will decide what is important at the next election. The arguments people on this forum get into over football are stupid enough without this.

Just for reference, Lowe is (or was) way to the right of Reform. Sympathises with Tommy Robinson, which should tell you enough about his beliefs.

I don't want that kind of shit anywhere near the club.

The far right have got a long history of stirring up shit and trying to recruit at football games, anyone who remembers the NF bollocks back in the 70s and 80s will know about that.

I know from bitter experience that we've got a few of those sort of people in our fanbase still; I just want to make sure that they don't suddenly get the idea that it's safe to crawl back out from under their rocks.

He was reporting people in boats who were taking part in a race the other week, he's might not be a racist, but hes a fucking grade A clown

We are a football club from a mostly left leaning city but we have fans of all political stripes and they are all welcome.

If you want to run around saying "stop the boats" without a clue how it works and what can be done then you are free to do so but as has been said let's not put a fucking city badge on it.

What gives you the idea that the people coming here now don't want to work? Can you tell me exactly how much asylum seekers get in benefit?

When you've looked it up, ask yourself if you'd travel thousands of miles from your home and risk your life for it.

There's undoubtedly a reasonable discussion to have about immigration, but starting it from the assumption that they're all coming here to claim benefit or commit crime is, frankly, rubbish.

This is almost as pathetic as the bloke I see walking around the CBS wearing a MAGA hat.

I cannot imagine basing so much of my personality around a single politician who has no idea I exist and wouldn't give a shit about me if they did, let alone a complete non-entity like Rupert Lowe.

Actually going to the time, effort and expense of designing, printing and putting up stickers? Just bloody weird.

Someone once did the same for the EDL and the stickers just ended up in the urinals ;)

Some dense bloke with no critical thinking using our badge, I'm sure he's a 'keep politics out of football' type fella when it's standing up to racism or promoted women or LGBT inclusivity in the game. Sick of this creeping fascism attempting to use football clubs to promote nonsense. 'Football lads alliance' was another one that made me completely cringe, people that don't even go to the games marching with 'are tommeh' using ours and other good clubs badges in attempt to legitimise it. Just go to the game and enjoy it without being an arsehole and lumping the rest of us in your nonsense
