If they make an offer then I think we do have to accept (at a set fee).
The option is on whether they make the offer or not.

Doyle's rating on FotMob for 24/25 was 7.09, Kitching's was 6.91.
Doyle played 40 games to Kitching's 27 in the Championship and contributed more goals (1 more) and assists (7).

I don't mind Kitching, think he gets a hard time from a few on here and for the last couple of seasons we've always been better when he's in the team. But the answer to your question is still yes, Doyle is better.

I think Kitching is good but after striker he’s definitely the next upgrade in terms of the first 11, if this brau is decent

Having 4 strikers for 1 starting position must’ve caused a lot of problems last year. None of them got a good run of games and either got bit part minutes, played out of position or both.
Pretty sure all 4 strikers believe they should all be starting in their preferred position. Signing Bassette after BTA was strange because it was a multi-million pound signing without a specific need to fill.
A loan for Bassette makes sense to me because unlike Simms and BTA, he has no track record in this league, he’s soundly a 4th choice option.

Not Sakamoto? His FotMob match rating was 6.80 over 44 games. His goal tally of 4 outperformed his xG of 3.11 (or something like that). Bobby Thomas’ xG was 4.78 for reference and had about 15 more shots too.
When you’ve got 10+ wingers from last season on 12-15+ goal contributions and we have none, it’s a problem. When we only have 2 goal scorers in Wright and Rudoni.
I’d say the same about EMC, but his same size was a lot smaller and his underlying numbers suggest he could be a 15 goal/assist player over 40+ games.

I like Sakamoto, do I think we need competition in that area with the potential to upgrade? Yes
but I just think it’s more imperative we upgrade at lcb
to answer EMC, I think we’ll sign a number 9 and I’d then have haji on the left

Last season Sunderland were 4th. They may have got promotion through the playoffs but are you seriously saying they were lots better than us?
As you know my prediction for this season is 2nd to 4th. Have we improved much? What position do you see us finishing in as you keep mentioning a mid table side?

He was a monster of a centre back few seasons ago. If hes 80% of the player he was he can do a job for 1 season. But again if we are desperate. Good experienced head.

He'll almost certainly be the preferred option on the left. Obviously along with being a goal threat, he wants his wingers to be a creative outlet by delivering balls into the box and creating chances.
I've mentioned this previously, it's not that Haji necessarily doesn't do that, but as a natural striker he will often look for the goalscoring opportunity.

Would it not be stupidity to come back to a club on loan after you was there 2/3 seasons ago. Albeit we are slightly higher profile now.

If we want to improve on 5th place, we need more than 20 goal contributions in a season from the wing.
This debate has been had out, but it’s pretty clear that Haji wants to play striker and that’s also where Lampard wants to him. Haji is a blue chip striker in this league and his output for us is better when he’s playing upfront.
I don’t want anyone to get things twisted, Sakamoto is a good player but my opinion is that he’d make more of an impact as a game changer from the bench. The facts speak for themselves, Thomas is bigger goal threat than Sakamoto. EMC’s numbers in a fraction of the minutes are encouraging and suggest he could actually be a quality championship winger.
Overall, we absolutely need 3-4 wingers who can contribute and it’s a pretty low hanging fruit to find a winger capable of improving on 4 goals for the season. Outside of the starting unit… we have Rapha. That isn’t enough to get us through a 50 game season.
