Wouldn’t be that disappointed if we didn’t do anything else, maybe another centre half as cover, but we’ve filled what we needed, cover for MVE and a left back, we scored enough last season, just conceded too many, we look better already, wouldn’t be far off again with the current squad
We desperately need a striker.
The goals we scored last season were spread around the team. Which is good, but you still need a striker that can score at least 15 to 20 league goals a season

Last season Simms, BTA and Bassette scored 12 goals between them, we need a striker capable of more than that. We saw how toothless we were in the playoff games, we dominated both games but didn't take enough chances.

We've got Wright of course, and he scored 12 on his own having missed a big part of the season with injury, AND playing many games on the left of midfield, but hes currently injured and we dont know if hes available to start the season, so we definitely need another striker with pace who knows how to find the net.

I'm happy to give Wright a run as CF with EMC on the left.

I have often wondered if EMC could play as CF, given that little purple scoring patch he had. It's probably not his best position but I would be prepared to give it a go if (a) we don't get another striker in (though I'm sure we will) and (b) Wright gets injured. I would have thought he can't do any worse than Simms.

Nah I wouldn't like to see EMC upfront tbh - especially bearing in mind we've got Simms,BTA & Bassette who should all be able to do a job there

I would be - we need a striker for one thing plus another RW & GK

maybe a GK ? but we’ve added to a squad that finished 5th and kept our best players so far, pretty sure they’ll be a couple more coming in but if the season started tomorrow id be confident

There is no chance we are getting 15 million plus. You also can't claim he isn't better than Milan yet tho if you insist on comparing KKH has played for villas first team
Well one has just been deemed not good enough for the premier league and the other is being chased by premier league clubs

Is MVE being chased by Premier League clubs? There was Fulham interest until their player signed a new contract. I saw someone suggesting in the media he would be be a good fit for Everton. But I have not seen anything to suggest he is actually on Everton's radar.

I'm sure lots of clubs are monitoring him like they monitor loads of players and it maybe if they fail to land other targets, then their interest may heighten as the transfer window deadline gets nearer.

But I see no evidence a queue has formed.

Bidwell needs shifting. You need to move on from veteran players before they completely go off a cliff and the signs for Bidwell have been there for a while.
Birdwell is not a veteran by today's standards and I'm not supporting him but both left backs get over run most weeks for us. Is it possible that they get isolated because of our leftside midfield. Emc or Wright don't track back very well. Possibly the way the manager sets up

Should be great down the wings

As I said in my post, I only think it’s worth a try if we have no options other than Simms, BTA and Bassette as none of them seem to have the knack of putting it in the net at the moment. We will never know unless we try it.

Hopefully we will get another striker in and Haji and/or at least one of the others will find some form and remain relatively injury free.

Except they didn’t sell Hamer or Gyokeres when they had the chance. King did though

If Doug King hadn't became the owner in January 2023, Sisu would have sold Hamer and Gyokeres in the January transfer window of that year for a lot less than what Doug King sold them for.

Unless the right money comes in at todays value Milan will be here. We don't need to sell and certainly at a price that doesn't suit us. Time will tell, but i don't think its as cut and dry as is being posted on here.

Lets see what FL says and does as surely someone will ask 1st chance they get.

Whilst I don’t disagree with the sentiment - part of our selling point to players like MVE is that we’ll develop him and put him in the shop window for bigger clubs or get promoted with him.

if we start pricing them out of moves other players will think twice before signing.

in terms of full backs - you’ve also go to look at who we’ve brought in as a replacement. By all accounts KKH is very much a great ready made replacement. Why would teams spend 15m when you can get similar for 3.5
We would be selling a seasoned pro who might be good enough for a lower premium side. We've signed a very good replacement but he is still at the start of his career. It may take a season or two for KKH to show everyone what he can do at his first club that plays him instead of always going on loan. 2 good seasons and he would then most probably be a 15m player if he progresses under Lampard.

He played 51 games for Preston in the Championship last season , what on earth are you on about ?
