Is there any reason that the lineo's can't work the other half so the one nearest singers corner is able to see if the ball legally over the quadrant.

Yeah maybe just north of 2000. Whilst what you say about the big/local teams coming, you've also got to consider the poorly followed teams and ones visiting on a midweek night - Millwall, Preston, Portsmouth etc. Then Swansea, Watford, QPR, Blackburn etc. They'll most likely even the big followings out.

Anyway besides the point. I don't think we'll average as high at 29k.
Not sure that's quite right. Pompy brought nearly 3K on a Wednesday night last season. QPR will bring a decent following if not sell-out being a Saturday and at the start of the season. Even Watford brought 2.5K last season.
Agree with Blackburn & Preston, Swansea might bring a few more than normal being on Boxing Day. Even Hull is not usually great but being the first game will see more visit. I reckon the away average will be higher than last season.

I thought the same regarding Pompey, always had a good away support.

It has been mentioned. Several times by several people in this thread!!

That’s why they’ve stopped selling in the south stand to limit the number of moves and not released the majority of the remaining seats for general sale as they’re needed to guarantee those ST holders a place.

Can somebody tell me why we put such a low cap on season tickets?

If the demand is there for say 27,500 why don’t we allow it and then leave a smaller amount for general public sale so we are more guaranteeing and securing bums on seats.

I swear I read somewhere on here they cap it at like 24k

we have to allow for cup games, where we have to give a fixed % to away fans. this already means ST holders in the south stand have to move for those games, so we also have to allow for them to move somewhere.
6/8 of the capacity of the stadium seems reasonable for a ST cap.

You cannot have a closed shop.

The rules say that a certain amount of tickets must be available per game for general sale

Otherwise, the ’occasional’ supporter would never get the chance to go.

Also walk-ups pay considerably more per game. Extra revenue for the club.

Season tickets are crucial for cash flow after the summer when there has been no income.

The 23k ish season tickets will have covered that gap!! Also the fact that we put them on sale later than a lot of other clubs shows a reasonably good cash flow position.

That is a very good point that I hadn’t thought of.
I suppose the same can be said about us in recent years never being in a hurry to get the new kit on sale
