I can sort of understand it with Gray though. 18, England U21, and had a hugely successful season individually despite being incredibly young.

When they have billionaire owners who'll want success quickly and want to be competitive in the title race going forward, want to be regulars in the champions league I doubt they will have patience spending 20 million or whatever on someone who'll have to bide his time, they will go out and spend money on top European players.
