Bristol manager saying they requested not to have this referee...

Just watched the interview. He’s 100% getting fined, calls it a ‘shocking’ decision several times, says it’s a huge mistake and references it changing the game a lot too.

He also cites previous mistakes made by that ref (including mentioning our game v Luton!) as to why they didn’t want him to ref today as he ‘knew it would happen’.

It’s actually a pretty composed interview but lots of overt criticism of the ref. I mean fair play, but fine incoming!

Or maybe it's not. Maybe it's about time I had a bit of a rummage around and see what other unsubstantiated rubbish you are writing about Sunderland?

You've been caught out again on this board making wild unsubstantiated statements about Sunderland.

another one was about our fans seemingly slagging coventry off.

I've had a look online and can find nothing but a load of very respectful comments about Coventry City, the club, the team and its fans.

Instead of having a load of pre conceived ideas about SAFC why not check them out before you post?
Is it true Sunderland have employed nonces in the past?

we all know it’s not going to be as easy as some are making out, even Sunderland in their recent form haven’t been getting hammered, ( apart from by us ) but i can only see us winning, think as we’re in that atmosphere You don’t appreciate what it’s actually like, spoke to a boro fan who was there Saturday, said it was actually intimidating, so it must have a big effect on the other team, its Gonna be even better tomorrow,

Me too. But I’ll be over it in a few hours if we don’t. I like the championship games
If it's a painful ending for us on pens like the last time, it will take me more than a few hours to get over it.

He’s obviously disappointed, but he can have no complaints about the decision.

Well Sheffield United looked the part. Vs. 10 men might flatter them, but even before that HAMER pulled all the strings. Dangerous, dangerous, but not worth thinking about for two more games. Goodnight!

Blatant red card for the Bristol player, double jeopardy is for genuine attempts to win the ball for things like miss timed tackles.

If the scenario plays our exactly the same but the Bristol player doesn't wrap his legs around and play the ball after the foul, it would still be a penalty and red card and nobody would be saying it was controversial. The fact that he's played the ball after the foul is clouding people's judgement.

There is no pressure on Sunderland. We are making up the numbers in the play offs. Coventry City are the overwhelming favourites here and you are expected to win handsomely - home and away. We're along for the ride.

Never has there been such little expectation on Sunderland.

We will hopefully make a little bit of money and God knows we could do with it.
Pressure is on Sunderland pal you've been in the playoffs most of the season and will unlikely have another season as good as this one.We would of been happy staying up and going again next season but we sneaked in.Will be a good encounter over the two legs we needs a few goals head start, but to be fair I don't want to go Wembley again ole ole and lose to Sheffield United as they are better than both of us.

Interesting b being on this board for a few days because you dont half make some wild unsubstantiated statements.
It's a football fans forum, what else would you expect. 🤭

Sheffield united already had the edge over the other teams in the playoffs and now I can't help but feel that having the first game locked up and likely to tie gives them an even greater chance, they can rest players as soon as they get that one more goal or even before the ball is kicked. Makes them even bigger favourites now unfortunately.

“Accidental” is not part of the law. It has to be an “attempt to play the ball” if accidental came into it Da Silva would have a good case for appeal
The terminology used states “non-deliberate” probably should’ve gone word for word.

Regardless of the decision, how did that ref get a play off semi? He's fucking awful. Surely play off games should get the elite refs (if we even have any in this country.) Surprised we didn't end up with that useless tosser Sam Allison for ours.

A reasonable question, but he got everything spot on last night including 2 highly contentious decisions.
