The whole premise of this thread is based on selling our best players, a ludicrous and foolish strategy. They are all under contract and I believe the club will be build on that strong foundation.

The players most likely to go are BTA, Allen, Collins and either Bidwell or DaSilva.

I am not convinced Sheaf will go, sort of thinking that to be 50/50.

Do not forget Binks and Lati have transfer value too and they are probably easy to replace.
Was it foolish when Brentford sold their front 3 and got promoted the next season?

It's not wild to talk about that scenario. It's open knowledge the plan was always likely to involve selling to reinvest.

Last season's cup run and Vik paying out twice sounds like we'll not have to in the summer, which would be a win.

but keep in mind none of those three are gonna be in a rush to sign new contracts if we're in this league next year.

For me, MVE will go this summer. There's often talk that he's homesick/has a long-distance relationship.

I think a European side of PL would be tempted to gamble on him. Not quite sure what we'd get.

Out of the three, I'd sell him because he's not worth £15m

yeah a brace, that was Feb, what arent we doing to feed Simms like we were last season? is it that EMC and rudi are now scoring more instead?
He's being asked to play with his back to goal 35-40 meters out and bring others into the game. Its clearly not his strong point but any striker is going too struggle to score playing that way.

Selling Rudoni shouldn't be considered at all unless someone has spotted his potential given how young he is and puts in a massive offer. Even then would it be best for him not playing every game and learning from Lampard?

We need to keep Wright if we're serious about constantly improving our squad. His injury affected his season but he is still an international striker who scores goals. What we need us to bring in a better partner for him.

MVE? More than just a defender who gets us out of the shite with his pace. Can be untouchable on the wing and his long throws are a bonus. But if a big offer comes in for him and he wants to leave? Bye MVE and thanks for the memories. Would give us the money to strengthen our defence and maybe leave enough to bring in a GK to compete with Dovin. Would be very happy to see him stay though.

This will be Lampard’s first chance of shaping the squad the way he wants it. Can see several players leaving even if we stay in the Championship. Maybe go back to having a few loans. Should be a very interesting summer.

Why?

Are people forgetting we're completely in the driving seat contract wise, Wright & MVE have 2 years left and Rudoni 3. This is not another Vik/Gus situation where they can leave for free next summer.
I don't think there will be much happening unless they generate some funds. Haji, Rudi and Milan will all be in demand. I think injuries might have affected Sheaf's chance of a big move. Here's what King said the other day, that doesn't mean they will all go of course but I think there's a high chance if we receive good enough offers. I don't want any of them to go myself!

He added: “Look, there will be people who will be interested in some of our players in the summer. We know that and we have got to be prepared for that. We have done two big windows already and we are in a better position now than we were two years ago when I hadn’t even done a window, so that’s where we are.”

Asked if he’s expecting the forthcoming window to be a big one for the club if City don’t manage to go up, King explained that finances will dictate that to a degree, saying: “It depends on how much in-coming there is and how it works."

When you look at the dross we've put up with over the years up top, that have gone on to other clubs and been prolific, it's nice to actually have the prolific part of them for a change. Culprits that spring to mind are JCH who was awful everywhere but Peterborough and Connor Chaplain who was awful everywhere but Ipswich for 2 seasons. Throw Craig Bellamy in there for good measure as it's always good to have a pop at that c**t!

JCH...what a waste. He barely scored in League 2 when he was with us on loan. I couldn't believe it when he started scoring loads at Posh. Robins (despite being a striker) spunked a lot of budget on strikers who just didn't deliver.
Tyler Walker, JCH, Martyn Waghorn and Conor Chaplin being the main offenders.

Ideally we'd be able to sell the fringe players and get the Gyokeres sell on to bolster funds. I'd probably prefer to look to sell Sheaf ahead of these three.

But taking the question as stood, the sensible option has to be MvE.

Of the three his value is probably the least so you'd be doing the nest business. Plus a RB is going to cost less to replace (although we would need two). He'd be a big loss, but that money could lead to an overall improvement.

Having said that, one of my biggest fears with MvE is that pace plays a big part in how good he is. He gets an injury and loses that a bit then i think he could struggle.

Of the other two Rudoni is just a no. He's young, chips in with goals and assists from midfield and looks like he's only going to improve, especially with Lampard as mentor.

Wright I can understand why people would accept losing him. He's at an age where he's probably at his peak value and he can be incredibly frustrating. But he does have a habit of putting the ball in the net, and that's worth a lot in this game. So if we sold him for that amount then we'd have to spend most if not all of it on someone who could do the same. It'd have been nice if Simms had kicked on this season and Wright wouldn't be such a miss, but sadly he hasn't. If someone offered around £20m (I know that's highly unlikely) then I think I'd take that.

Well just ignore the four twenty a season strikers he had 🤣

I don't think they'll be much if anything really from Gyokeres unless he goes for silly money. We had an advance of £2m (?) to buy BTA (no doubt we got fleeced on that) and Brighton will get much of the rest.

We don’t know what. Sporting paid the initial Brighton sell on, they might have to pay future ones too.

No, we never really know anything but all the talk is of a fee closer to £50m when he does move. Sporting will need to sell on so there would have to be a big fight over him for them to get top money.

I don’t think we’ll get a lot of I just don’t think we’ll have to give much is anything to Brighton. I’ said earlier I’d be surprised if Vik + Sheaf is more than £10m

I think King's on record as saying that there will be money due to Brighton. Might be wrong.

King says all kinds of stuff. Ultimately it’s all moot and we’ll have to spend whatever King makes available. Said it before but we never expected 100% of transfer fees to be spent before. King might put money in, might want to hold some back, for all the fun fag packet maths is on here.
