Well that’s not even what I said, but if you want to go down that road, Robins has opted for Dasilva over Bidwell many times, and on a few occasions it’s worked well. It’s also resulted in one of the worst individual performances I can remember from a City player, of course!

This is all easy to see from both the good old fashioned eye test AND the data. There is no great mystery here. I’ve no idea why Bidwell vs Dasilva continues to be this controversial question, the pros and cons of each player are screamingly obvious.

What I don't get is how Bidwell seems to be totally beyond reproach for many on here.

By all means criticise Dasilva, no issue with that, he's deserved plenty of it.

But it's the double standards that annoys me. Case in point people bemoan Dasilva for not beating a man yet I think Bidwell has beaten about 3 defenders in 2 seasons. And my favourite one, someone said Dasilva was sloppy in posession against Plymouth despite having 96% pass completion, and not a peep about Bidwell - who had 70% pass completion!

Like you say, their strengths and weaknesses are very obvious and certain games Bidwell is the better option and other games Dasilva is. The benefits of having a squad.

Revert to a back 4, give Kelly another game and rest Eccles, then fit someone like Palmer on the right because we've got no-one who can do what Saka does. I'd have Collins back in but doesn't look like MR will.

3-1 City. Simms, Wright, Torp. Should be doing these.

Wilson
MvE Thomas Kitching Bidwell
Kelly Torp
Palmer O'Hare Wright
Simms

Collins, Lati, Binks, Dasilva, Eccles, Tavares, Godden, Kids x 2
Robins is the manager, he can therefore decide what he believes is the most effective team for any given match but after two defeats in 16 I would like to think he could come out and explain to supporters why he dropped Collins, instead he came out and merely stated he does not have a number one goalkeeper which is just fucking odd.

Bidwell is superior. On this occasion I don’t care what the stats say. Dasilva cannot defend

In general; Dasilva is marginally better higher up the pitch (low bar) and Bidwell is better defensively. They both have deficiencies but if you want to reduce your chances of conceding from that side, Bidwell is the safer option imo.

They absolutely bullied us in the away fixture didn’t they? Wasn’t that the game where Ayari looked like an under 12s player?
I honestly don't recall the game.
The thing is they are so far adrift they will probably play without any pressure - Could bring out the 'best' in them or the worst.

I'd like to see this, but there's the option to switch Wright to the right wing, and play Dasilva on the left. Then you've got Palmer to come on later in the game.

Someone posted up a stats comparison with MvE Bidwell and Dasilva. The only thing Bidwell was far superior on was heading. Everything else was about the same or (shot creating actions/assists) Dasilva was slightly better.
Stats are stats but we have seen that Bidwell is better!

It just has to be a win. Anything less than 3 points tonight is a disaster. Collins/Bidwell and Kitching from the start please.

It would be embarrassing if they did the double over us, the only other teams they have beaten are Norwich and Middlesbrough.

If we don’t beat these we don’t deserve to go up
It must be pretty clear by now that a) we are struggling to stay in contention b) we certainly do not want promotion this year. But neither do they deserve needlessly narky comments.

We are in contention, at this point an individual game does not really change that.
