Sakamoto Injury (1 Viewer)

This is one of the weirdest threads ever. Have we have had such a long thread about someone's injury with speculation and sightings and inside info? Maybe testament to the popularity of Sakamoto that everyone cares so much. It feels like everyone loves him because he's a great player but also seems like a loveable guy. Let's just hope he is ok and can make a full recovery.

“Nerve damage, nerve damage, nerve damage, duration, at the hospital, at home”

Christ, it’s been done to death.

Why are we still speculating ?

Did anyone spend time with his at the stadium to diagnose his injury ? No !

Has anyone seen his xrays showing what the injury may be ? No !

Will it improve his recovery time ? No !

Will it make the club or hospital release details quicker ? No !

Will it just rile up other forumites with completely erroneous information ? Yes !

Give it a rest  Let the club announce it when they're ready and they have the ACCURATE information to release, be that today, tomorrow or next Friday. He won't be fit for tomorrow so let the doctors do what's best for the patient.

Saka-san is in the best hands and I for one wish him all the best in a speedy recovery.

Sounds like he’s fractured the processes ( the knobbly bits you can feel ) and like any fractures will need 8-10 weeks to heal. That assumes no nerve damage involved.
(fyi: ex paramedic)
Well, I'm no paramedic, but I have seen many episodes of Casualty and my tenpence worth is......

(Turns to window and gazes longingly at the horizon)

Camera slow zoom, rack focus

(Dr. Bandzulis gently places his hand on the mother's shoulder)

"Please take a seat, Mrs Johnson,
please! We are doing everything in our power to help Johnny pull through. I suggest you go home, be with your family and we will let you know as soon as we have glued the head back on"

"But, Doctor.... will he still be able to play the piano ?" <pouts>

Quick google and looking at other examples in Football.

Shaun Williams fractured a vertebrae similar time last season for Portsmouth but was back for the first game of the next season playing for Gillingham. He was a lot older at 35 too.

(This isn’t taking into consideration the severity of his fracture vs the potential of Tatsu’s)
Our very own Dion Dublin broke his neck didnt he was really innocuouse if i remember. Think he recovered well.

Hopefully whatever the issue it's a clean break kinda thing..with no complicated issues.

A nice update for you all

He is now home!. Complete rest for 6/8 weeks poor bloke, but club supporting in any way possible. As it stands it can be healed by complete rest in that time period, where the nerve issue can be looked at and reassessed, however all looks good at the moment, so no operation needed.

All being well we will see him back in pre season

Thank fuck for that. Great news! No operation is very good news. Unfortunate the season is over for him but I for one can’t wait to see the Japanese magician back in Sky Blue next season.

That's good to hear. I'll tell my mate not to post stupid tweets.

Surely starts out with a lovely intro to Saka’s normal day before we see the Preston player cross their path in a slightly foreshadowing manner?

Great news, rest up Tats and all being well you’ll carry on your superb efforts next season

If there is no serious nerve damage then this sounds like the best outcome we could reasonably have hoped for. Sadly, taken together with our other injuries, it's probably the final nail in the coffin of our play-off hopes. The most important thing is that he makes a full recovery.

It’s definitely hanging by a thread but it comes into insignificance re the tats situation

but I don’t think it’s over yet but we definitely need to raise it and also get Ben sheaf back

Whilst Saddle's update is good to hear,
an injury like this is not cause for rejoicing or complacency, and given the conflicting claims and speculation over the last couple of days I am still waiting for something more official.

Good luck Tats, crazy as it sounds you've become one of my all-time favourites in the space of just a few months. Hope to see you back on the pitch in Sky Blue before too long.

Are you a replacement Matt Smith for the Matt Smith we all know and love and frequently roll our eyes at?
No it’s the same matt

If Maidstone score first though, I’ll be back

but in all seriousness we need no more injuries and we need to be in touching distance when sheaf is back, should be without him for 3 league games at a guess, one is Rotherham at home

need a win from either west brom or Watford

Oh has no club ever released details of player injuries then?

But the club and player have a right to privacy on medical records. People need to realise they don't have a devine right to know everything.

And some patience wouldn't go a miss. Give swelling a chance to go down first, let the professionals do their job and give results to the club.

Just looking out for you, Hobo. Too many here would pick you up on spelling mistakes like that ;)
