O’Hare to L*cester (1 Viewer)

He could still leave in this window yet ….. things move quickly. Look at Hamers move to Sheffield United.

It’s not like the old days when clubs agreed a fee and then players talked terms. Player terms get agreed by the agent then the clubs try and agree the transfer fee. For all we know COH’s agent is agreeing terms with several clubs as we write ….

That is true. But it would still be O'Hare's choice rather than ours. Whichever way you look at it the ball is in his court and not the club's.

Sounds like Lesthur are close on the FFP so it will need them to sell before bringing in anyone?

Why will it hurt, we got him for free. Football is about winning things and we have the opportunity to win the play offs with him but take him away we don’t. Take him out that squad it’s not the same. It seems most would be happy to sell him and finish 10th and have a go next year. Pretty insane as the wages you’re wasting for another year and all other costs probably get close to it.

We finished in the play offs last season and we're still in the Championship now.

No one wants to finish 10th but people don't want to lose him on a free. Our business model, even under Doug, remains the same as before. Buy cheap, sell big.

If he goes he goes. Trust in MR to replace accordingly. Thousands of players out there.
Can’t see why anyone would pay a decent fee for him under the circumstances if I am honest. I doubt we would get anything more than peanuts at this point so may as well just keep him as he’s so significant to the team and going up.

I don't think they 100 percent need him right now tbh; but yes can see them signing him in the summer for nothing when they are back in the Prem.

Regardless, getting tired of this whole damn thing tbh; O'Hare is a good player but not God's gift to soccer either. If he signs great, if not, we move on.

Couldn't care less if he goes, if he doesn't sign stop playing him. All we doing is getting his fitness, confidence and match time up for him just to turn around circling around "are you re signing with us?" O'Hare is doing exactly what Hamer did last summer, and Hamer is poor in the Premier League, O'Hare is half the player Hamer is. People forget that O'Hare has a shocking Goals and Assists record, it's only recently he has hit a purple patch and all of a sudden he is irreplaceable, the best thing since sliced bread and our success is determined on whether he signs or not. I mean honestly? 13 Championship goals in 121 Championship appearances? honestly i have seen more from Sakamoto in the 24 matches he has played than O'Hare. Honestly we will be absolutely fine with or without O'Hare.

You think that's bad I'm at Bangkok airport and my plane to Southern Thailand is covered in a giant Leicester Shitty logo

From what I have read they're desperately trying to offload the likes of Danny Ward who picks up silly money and doesn't ever get a game

Souttar but he is away at the Asia Cup till the deadline and Luke Thomas who Sheff U sent back from loan by virtue of not being very good

Most Leicester fans I have seen aren't expecting anything unless any of them go

Danny Ward is such a poor keeper , reminds me of Scott Shearer.

One of my pals (Big City fan) went travelling round Asia in a group of 4 last year and they did Bangkok for a few days and he refused to go up the King Power tower and didn't buy any duty free in Thailand

Some great levels of pettiness :ROFLMAO:

If he goes there this January then I can’t see him ever being welcome at the CBS again.
I don't know...

Some* of our supporters were happy to see them win the FA Cup just because Maddison played for them at the time - I had to log out of twitter and facebook some of the stuff I was seeing was making my blood boil

As someone pointed out on twitter, he's a villa fan and left them for us, so loyalty means nothing, he'd already be at Burnley if it wasn't for injury!

On the other hand though, the source seems bullshit and just stirring up fake news

Turns out he’s a Birmingham fan but I take your point.

It’s also true that at the time he was going on stage with Tom Grennan at the Godiva Festival it was our club that was preparing to sell him to Burnley.

Play off push out the window if he goes, we were bang average before he came back don’t forget that. Everyone could see we were lacking creativity. If we lost Ohare now and Palmer got injured again we’re back to being average. I’m not fussed if Ohare goes at the end of the season but if we loose him now for the sake of a couple of Million we won’t be going up in the play offs.

loose lose

Look if he has to go and make his big money move for his future financial stability then I guess he will go anywhere that will come up with the readies !
I hope he doesn’t piss CCFC about and become a negative influence but I doubt it.
He’s a cracking lad and a good player and morale booster for our entire squad. He does have a great relationship with the City fans, I hope given a choice of prospective clubs he wouldn’t choose Leicester of all clubs because that would be traitorous to many of us 😡

At the end of the game one of the incesters approached him and spoke to him about something as he was making his way to our fans. I felt at the time that I bet it was 'come and join us' or something to that effect. O'Hare didnt make conversation or stop, but I thought there was something more to it than just shaking the guys hand at the end of a game.
Yeh that’s definitely how players are recruited 😂😂😂

heard it all now

Read into this what you will.

Dawkins doesn't know anything. He also can't read as the actual Athletic piece was just a match report where the journalist suggested possible people who they could look at. They didn't say they are looking at O'Hare just he was someone they could look at.

Players don't tell him anything anymore. They have learnt this as when they have give them information before he betrays it and posts it on Twitter and the club then know which players are leaking news.

Is he a Traitor or a Faithful ?

The only teams i can see taking a punt on him and paying a fee in Jan are those fighting to stay up in the Prem.

Everyone else will hold on till he's free in the summer I imagine, dont think he makes a difference to the auto promotion contenders at this stage

Don't read that as saying he's responding to the Athletic article though. Braincells are being fried on Twitter panicking about Cal's departure. More so after a few Leicester accounts have started focussing on him. Most of what he's said is common sense, which some Twitterites have put away with the Christmas decorations, and has been said here.

Even read one Celtic post asking if he'd signed a precontract with them, which would be far more feasible.

Jesus he would make a mockery of some of the sides in that League

Would get 6 UCL appearances under his belt though

So many body language experts in our ranks who are always totally wrong 😂. I mean a clubs first approach for a player, is get one of your own players to shake his hand and whisper in his ear immediately after the final whistle.

What planet do some people live on?
Didn’t Steven Gerrard do this to Jermain Pennant during the game?

Worst take ever - Half the player Hamer was? Hamer was 132 games and circa 19 goals if you are using that as your yardstick. I know he was more than that but come on, in this current side and since he has been back, he is irreplaceable right now, not long term, everyone can be replaced and will be.

You have to consider his pre injury form and experience with what we are witnessing now, two different game styles and actual players around him to assist him more now to look better but play better.
Saka comparison is irrelevant as he is better out wide and not as effective in the central role when he played there in some early games, you could argue that Saka is also in a purple patch compared to what he achieved before.
We will definitely be better with him than without him

The rumours are because the Athletic match report and a Leicester twitter feed bamming up Cov fans by posting it out of context.

I could maybe see Celtic as an option if the standard of PL interest isn't great. He is from an Irish family and he was part of the Irish community playing GAA etc and it allows him to play in Europe and maybe seek a bigger move easier than playing for a struggling PL team.

We won't really know anything until towards the end of the season anyway as he will wait until he has all his options unless a foreign team comes in with a once in a lifetime offer.

Funny enough I noticed on one of the Celtic fans forums someone claiming that they had been told by someone at Celtic that they are interested in him. Celtic are a massive club and for someone who has Irish heritage you can see why this could be appealing to him.

It does, people will call it a "pub league" and yes there are a lot of awful teams but a decent season or 2 can be a launchpad to a big move.
