I think he's a huge miss and we'd need another body in but, unlike last season, we're a team of decent players rather than 2.

£3m could get you replacements. Losing him on a free wouldn't.

It depends on King/Robins ambition for this season. If they are keen for top 6, we need to keep him. If they are looking ahead to next season, the £3m is handy.
We would be sacrificing a whole seasons work for 2-3 million. That’s countless millions spent on other players wages etc and transfer fees. Fans spending thousands on tickets and watching the team play, surely the whole point of sport is to try and win and get to the top of where you can. If we sold him in January the season is written off. What you gonna build with 3 million, Doug an extension?

Not necessarily. He's been our best player since his return but there's others in the side who are playing well. There's no guarantee he either stays fit, or in form. £3m brings in Sakamoto and Bobby Thomas. Or a Milan Van Ewijk.

No one know what Torp will offer but it seems like he's been brought in to replace O'Hare longer term?

It’s a shame he’s only now starting to reach his full potential, he can’t have any loyalty to us he’s gotta look after his own interests

we’ll find another take as much money as possible sell and move on

If he gets injured, is the season written off? (wasn't last season)
Don't want him to go, but if we got a good fee and brought in a couple of players, who knows where we'll end up. I wouldn't expect us to implode as a result of losing any single player now (except perhaps Julian Gray)

I've heard he's going to Burnley in January and for a decent fee.
It could be bollocks, but keep a eye on this one.

I don’t even think COH has been our best player since his return. I’d have Tats ahead of him.

He’s been influential but not in the same way Vik carried us last season.

Play off push out the window if he goes, we were bang average before he came back don’t forget that. Everyone could see we were lacking creativity. If we lost Ohare now and Palmer got injured again we’re back to being average. I’m not fussed if Ohare goes at the end of the season but if we loose him now for the sake of a couple of Million we won’t be going up in the play offs.
I don’t think COH leaving now ends our season. It would be a blow but it’s being over simplistic to suggest COH returning was the critical reason we improved.

We changed shape, new players had started to adjust to the team and league, victories brought confidence etc etc …

COH helped without doubt but he was just one of a number of contributing factors.

Not that bothered what happens with him, we've lost better players and been ok, we have money to spend and seemingly picking up some very talented players. So you would expect that to continue.

I just think we should keep him for the rest of the season and help us reach the play offs, unless we get a stupid offer for him then he's welcome to leave.

We've just had a £9m bid turned down, so pretty sure we don't desperately need £3m more, plus the chance of the jackpot of £100m+ if we win the play-offs.
Surely we need to hold on to him as long as we can for the best outcome for us both?
Would you pay a Premier League Club a £3m loan fee to borrow a player coming back from a major injury for the remainder of the season ?

if Yes then your logic holds up. If no then if doesn’t.

I wouldn’t and would trust the recruitment team to bring In the right replacement, indeed Torp may even be that player. Time will tell.

£3m is still a huge sum to a club like us …. Let’s not forget that.

They’re interested according to The Athletic, surely not:sick:

I think it’s one of his options but will be in the summer. I’m sure he’ll have a number of teams after him.

As I said after the game he greeted a number of their players very fondly and looked like there had possibly been some communication already.

Don’t need an article to tell us they’d be interested. Be poor from them if they weren’t.

They are top of the league and he destroyed them last week…his contract is expiring. Of course they’d be after him.

After watching them against us and Ipswich last night, they are lacking a 10.

At the end of the game one of the incesters approached him and spoke to him about something as he was making his way to our fans. I felt at the time that I bet it was 'come and join us' or something to that effect. O'Hare didnt make conversation or stop, but I thought there was something more to it than just shaking the guys hand at the end of a game.

So many body language experts in our ranks who are always totally wrong 😂. I mean a clubs first approach for a player, is get one of your own players to shake his hand and whisper in his ear immediately after the final whistle.

What planet do some people live on?

He might have already know them- players do it all the time.

Will he go or won't he? Is it him or isn't it! Bit like an episode of Traitors on here!! In MR we trust to do the right thing. We all thought we would collapse when Gus and Vic left...and look what's happened. Personally I'm more focused on what Torp is going to bring, and I'm excited about it...

BUT HE LOVES US

The results have came because of his enthusiasm and creativity don’t kid yourself. The other players were doing ok but he’s been the difference and they also needed him. 2 or 3 million is jack shit and it would be a season down the drain.

He was a part.

Like others have said, the change in formation and building the team around Tatsu on the wing is just as big. The two centre halves being stable etc.

£3m is not a drop in the ocean. It's easy to think that when we spent money in the summer but that money won't last if you don't keep selling for profits.

Losing O'Hare will be devastating but losing him for free will make it worse

It sounds like you are saying we missed the opportunity and should have cashed in and sold him to Burnley? Because that is the only way we would have avoided this contract situation.

He could still leave in this window yet ….. things move quickly. Look at Hamers move to Sheffield United.

It’s not like the old days when clubs agreed a fee and then players talked terms. Player terms get agreed by the agent then the clubs try and agree the transfer fee. For all we know COH’s agent is agreeing terms with several clubs as we write ….

Why will it hurt, we got him for free. Football is about winning things and we have the opportunity to win the play offs with him but take him away we don’t. Take him out that squad it’s not the same. It seems most would be happy to sell him and finish 10th and have a go next year. Pretty insane as the wages you’re wasting for another year and all other costs probably get close to it.
