Got to the stage where we are in such a bad state that it doesn't rile them anymore. In other words that as a club we are so far off where we need to be that it's almost an irrelevance. It's a strange feeling but it's where I am now

Got to the point I actually laughed when the 4th went in :( When I was younger it would have broken my heart.

Macca been there for a while. Saw the result wasnt suprised...it was expected from a team two leagues below us last season.

To quote Juggy when he was on the phone in, their fans sang, "Can we play you very week" - shameful

I'm apathetic towards not just the club now but football in general. The City being perpetually and hopelessly crap whilst virtually every other team has something to cheer about is killing my passion for the game.

When listening to commentary you could hear the Shrewsbury commentator talking about how every player has been amazing etc.

Agree. To me the club I grew up supporting no longer exists.

You have just said something there that I have been telling myself for a while.

I grew up supporting a Premier League Club. We were never the best, but we had a squad of players that at least looked talented. In 97/98, we looked handy against most teams. In 99/00, we played the best football I have personally ever seen a Coventry team play, at home at least. But now, it just feels like a different club. I feel sorry for people like my dad, and grandad, who are old enough to remember each and every season in the top flight. They saw us play in Europe, saw us win the FA Cup. I wonder how they keep it up sometimes. For people like my grandad, they've seen the club come full circle. They saw the rise, and now they're seeing the fall. I have to wonder how long it will be before any of our younger fans see us rise?

In terms of the twice weekly negative result, apathy now reigns.

As for the absence of any respect, among what appears to be the whole squad, for my club, my city and the shirt, i am extremely angry.

A total disregard of all the loyal and long suffering fans is not acceptable to me.

I take that personally, very f**king personally!!!

in fact, if any of the spineless, cowardly bastards, would like to contact me, i'll teach them what an honest days work is!!

They'll be motivated by the fact that their wage will be performance based only.

W****rs, to a man, F****ng W****rs.

Some time ago I said I didn't know who I felt more sorry for-the older fans who saw the club compete at the highest level and achieve domestic success and now have to see it rot in the third tier, or the younger ones who've almost exclusively experienced the club's decline and never saw the 'good' times. Myself, exactly half my life has been spent in top flight and football league each...

Sad but true thread at this moment in time.

I think that we may as well have a punt on a spotty Football Manager playing urchin to manage the team, could not be any worse. Perhaps a weekly CCFC sanctioned competition where the winner(or loser given how things are going) gets to take over as manager/coach for the week - winner stays on?

Pretty much my feelings summed up on this thread. Someone with contacts should email the whole thread to the board and new manager. Sad times. :-(

I think supporting ccfc carries a lot of negativityinto your own personal life aswell..I wonder how many Manchester united fans suffer from depression lol

i would love to not give a shite and did also ironically laugh as the goals went in! I thought we couldn't get any worse and these players talking Shaw/Carsley up might raise their game.......when? If we were a bang average team i wouldn't care, but we should be performing loads better..... we hear the reports of every team we play thinking of us as a big scalp in the league yet we are going into the games as underdogs with bookies......which is then proved right! Where do we get our enjoyment?

I honestly don't see us beating anyone at the moment, the confidence of the players is so low. They seem incapable of winning against anyone. The club is totally unrecogniseable from the one I grew up supporting and despite 25 years personally supporting the club, with parents who have supported the club for 60 years and a grandfather who supported the club for 85 years, I am seriously contemplating supporting another club. The fun and enjoyment has simply left CCFC.

The trouble is as real football fans you only ever have one club,I've supported City since the mid 70's, and even though i'm about as far from Coventry as you can get i'm still stuck with the bastards.:(

There was a time when I used to cry every time we lost.

Now I just shrug my shoulders.

Real fans do not change their football clubs no matter what.

I do feel like I've had enough at the moment, no doubt that will change. But I would never consider supporting another team, it would be like picking a new mum.

Clubs marketing campaigns really do get deep into some fans (not just CCFC) don't they.

Fact:

They want your money, nothing more. They don't care. Long as they have some income, you mean nothing to them.

Supporters are more like investors. You invest money to see the club spending it making things better on and off the pitch. If you feel like your money is being spent poorly, you have every right to go elsewhere. I'm glad I didn't buy a season ticket this season and just decided to go when I feel like it. This club is a train wreck in disguse.

It's character building at least.

I play some BF3 with my mates and my Man U supporting mate quits when it gets too tough. I abuse him and call it Man Utd Fan Syndrome. If its not on a plate and easy he's not interested.

Saying that not sure I should inflict this on my 2 month old son anymore.

NOT a good feeling

if cov become a nothing club to new generation we will see less home town supporters than ever

but..keep the faith:confused:

Spot on Macca.
I've had so much misery overt he last few years, mainly since Sisu "Saved us" that I don't feel the pain anymore, I've become immune.
I wish Mark Robbins all the best, as he is charged with keeping the Sky Blues up, but I think it needed Tim Robbins to help us escape from this one.

Went with my daughter to the game last night.

Having a drink before kick off and looking around the assembled Cov fans, I remarked that the average age there was much older than when I used to go to away games in my teens/twenties.

I guess it's not surprising. With the dross on offer over the last decade and the increase in Premier League armchair support, our fan base isn't being replenished.

Will the last supporter left please turn out the lights!

I remember when a defeat used to ruin my whole week end , I would be absolutely miserable company for my wife and family .

The displays that I endure now are beyond caring about .....after the Stevenage game I just walked out and unlocked my bike and cycled home ...... I had forgotten all about it by 4pm .

Will be back again Saturday for more punishment !

Remember it`s the hope that kills you .

Don`t let the ( useless ) bastards grind you down .
