Wasps downward spiral... (1 Viewer)

Also with the threat of relegation gone their season is already over and it's barely just begun.

The people running rugby are just so shit at it.
I could have told you that 25 years ago. The Union is a gin-soaked joke.

Reason I ask this is because I was told that they (CCC) are now working closely with Cov Rugby to develop the Butt's and surrounding area!!!!!!!! (Anybody else have anything on this!??)

Could this be a reason for the Telegraph's change of narrative towards Wasps!!??!!....
There's only a small element of truth in this.
Yes, CCC are being very supportive towards the rugby club with regard to the development of the ground, and are currently preparing a long-term lease (200 years?) to facilitate the nominated developer, who was rather reticent to put his hand in his pocket based on the original short ground lease.
The plan, should no further roadblocks occur, is to commence the West (Cowshed) Terrace and apartments next summer, followed by the Butts end hotel later on.
As I say, CCC are currently merely 'enabling' the development with lease and planning involvement, not actively involved in it as such.

That thread is quite sad actually. It's a few people from the South-East saying they aren't able to support their club any more and a few people from Coventry who are just bitter about abandoning us not giving a shit and blaming us and sisu.

They also constantly peddle that the non-sporting side will support the rugby club.

The two together are still making huge losses. If the non-rugby side doubled its profit it wouldn't support the rugby club.

They're being supported by owners pockets that aren't bottomless.

God, where to start on the dislike of Wasps by City fans.

  • Franchising of sport.

  • No impact on the football team (lie).

  • Primacy of fixtures, we'll play on Sundays (lie).

  • No impact on Cov RFC, we'll play on Sundays (as above).

  • We're going to build an Academy in the city bringing lots of jobs (lie).

  • We're not going to impact the football club (part 2). (But we'll have your academy instead.)

  • Oops, changed our minds, we'll have an academy in leafy Warwickshire instead (even if it stitches up the locals there).

OK, not all of those things relate directly to CCFC, but enough of them do to cause animosity. The others just show Wasps for what they are. And they're just the things I can remember.

It's entirely possible to dislike Wasps and SISU simultaneously, incidentally, a point seemingly missed by the CET.

Seeing their immoral and poorly thought out experiment fail in Coventry, why you'd have to have a heart of stone not to laugh.

My only sympathy is with their original, genuine fans, the fickle new Coventry ones have got other options, clearly.

Shugs is committed - I’ll give him that “the CBS wasn’t built for Cov, it was built for Tesco” Think he’s missed the history regarding Arena 2000 there
With assertions like that, I reckon maybe he should be committed.
I wonder if his local expertise extends to knowing what Hatton Country World and Shopping Village was originally, or if he thinks it was built for people to sell green wellies and fake horse brasses from?

Just driven past the Coventry city building society arena(as my lad calls it) looked very quiet but there was a bloke selling half and half scarves sums it up for me.

I listened to the commentary. I don't know about the numbers, but it certainly sounded like Wasps fans were very definitely in the minority.

In fact, if it wasn't for the Munster fans I fancy all that you would have heard would have been the gentle pop of bubbles bursting. :)
