Brummie scums 0

Anti football and red card was 100% correct, liked robins telling woods what a piece of shit he was as he left the field

Moore 7 (didn't have much to do but was assured with anything that came his way)
Dabo 6 (gave up on his man a couple of times and use of ball was poor. Otherwise linked well)
Hyam 7 (defensively strong but too slow with his passing)
McFadzean 8 (positive coming forward and trying to up the tempo)
Rose 7 (covered well on occasions. Lost his man a couple of times)
Maatsen 8 (motm. Really positive going forward with some great touches. Shame he couldn't score after that brilliant first half move but took up a great position. Wasn't intimidated by Deeney's antics)
Kelly 7 (think his defensive positioning often goes unnoticed. He breaks up play through know how. It is for other players to create as a result. Allows Hamer to get all over the pitch)
Hamer 8 (so much quality and drive. Set pieces let him down. Missed him when he went off)
O'Hare 6 (has to do better with final ball. Consistently poor decision making or poor execution)
Godden 7 (looked sharp but didn't get any clear cut chances)
Gyokeres 7 (was continuously fouled but ref gave nothing his way. Some nice link up play. Should have hit the target with late effort)

Allen 6 (was finding pockets of space and created Gyokeres chance but poor crossing)
Walker (could have been a hero but fluffed his lines. However, needed to come on earlier)

Moore 6 - Nothing to do but I still love that he comes for all the balls
Hyam 6 - Some great, some terrible
Fadz 6 - Great leader but a bit of sloppy passing today
Rose 6 - Want to see him bring the ball forward more because he's good at it
Dabo - 6 So much work but 0 end product
Maatsen 9 MOTM - Great game, battled for everything, won balls he had no right to and took on players with ease
Kelly 6 - Not sure what he brings over other players anymore
Hamer 8 - Some great forward bursts and passes, rubbish shot when through and scared to shoot when he should
O'Hare 8 - Must be a nightmare to play against
Godden 6 - Good shot but when he doesn't score he sometimes doesn't bring much else
Gyo 7 - Back to his best today turning defenders and running at players but closed down too easily
How does Maatsen get a 9? His corners and crossing are poor at best.

Are people giving Hamer MOTM because he managed to not get booked?! The fact he got dragged after an hour speaks volumes. Cash in and reinvest in Jan.

Hamer was brilliant first half.

Once again when he went off, we lacked that bit of quality.

Moore 6 - not a save to make
Hyam 6 - good defensively just abysmal with the ball
Mcfadzean 7 - solid and much better going forward than Hyam
Rose 6 - lost the plot with the Hogan chance
Dabo 6 - one good cross, great energy but poor decisions / execution more often than not
Kelly 6 - just doesn't use the ball well enough, doesn't actually make that many tackles
Hamer 8 - motm
O'Hare 7 - final ball let him down a bit but he is our only answer
Godden 7 - was sharp and involved
Gyok 6 - got to score his chance at the end

Subs
Allen 6 - tried to break the lines but just hasn't got the quality of others
Walker 5 - deserves better than a couple of minutes

Did we only have 10?

Brilliant at what exactly? Cant remember the last time one of crosses or set pieces found a City player either.

He dominated the midfield. I'm genuinely amazed that people are saying Hamer was poor.

In regards to the set pieces, most of them are pin point but the issue is in the box.
Pin point to the defenders head stood at the near post. Sadly he's getting less influential and not controlling games like he once did.

He did control the first half. The play was all coming through him and O'Hare.

His play for the Maatsen chance was class.

Just like Saturday, the moment we went off we dropped a gear and lacked quality.

Hamer was the best player on the pitch tonight, especially first half. You could tell he was up for it. Such a shame he had to go off but let’s hope that’s just a precaution for Saturday

Kane isn't gonna be knocking it past players or doing that inter play with o hare tho. Not to same level anyway. But a good cross makes wing back role perfection?

Ffs
Kane can deliver he don’t need to go past players every time though

Hyam was poor. His passing is terrible he just hoofs it forward every time.

Hyam was very good defensively but very poor with the ball tonight. The right hand side has Hyam whose poor on the ball, Dabo who’s end product is very bad (good otherwise) and O’Hare who drifts out there a lot whose end product is also lacking at times. We get into great positions but really lack the final precise pass. Took a friend who’s not a cov fan who was really surprised with how good we were. Said we were top class up until the 22 yard rugby line then really lacked quality, and it’s hard to disagree

You not a bit old now to be spending your evening trying to get bites on a football forum?

Maatsen 9..His best game for us.
Hamer 9...absolutely world class. If anyone cant see that then they are blind.

Rest 7s

Dabo was only 6.

Take the point. By far the better team. They were absolutely dogsshit.

Hamer is different gravy. Maatsen was good. Fadz magnificent and I also thought Kelly had a good game. O’Hare was good first half, was man marked second half and struggled to find the space.

Birmingham were absolutely bloody awful.

I think he’s great and don’t understand the criticism for him, but that kind of hyperbole probably stokes the fire. He’s very good for us in the championship. ‘Absolutely world class’ is overdoing it, let’s be honest.

lol It’s a great weapon if you have if

The long throw has its place, used sparingly, and when we had McCallum we obviously used it at times, but constantly employing it wouldn't suit us as we like to keep the game moving. Birmingham however want a stop start ugly type of game. Their main attacking ploy seemed to be to play into the channels hoping to get a throw in which Roberts would lumber over in his own time to take. It suited their purpose and took the sting out of the game for them at times so helped them to the draw.

We created our two best chances when he wasn’t on the pitch

He had a good game but aspects are disappointing - missed a good chance and his set piece delivery has declined sharply since the first half of last season

Whenever we had a good long throw specialised we used it - it’s as beneficial as a corner
