From the pre-season training pictures I haven't spotted Godden, Kelly, Dacosta, Jobello and Kastaneer. The first two will be injury recovery related. I assume the last two are those Robins referred to regarding the need to find other clubs? What about Dacosta? Not sure if I noticed Josh Reid either?

That’s so disappointing to hear, would have loved to have seen him given a chance.
I didn’t mind him when he played for us, had potential

Really?
I’ve not seen him do anything…even pre injury for us.

Edit: ah you were joking.

Seems very harsh unless there's been a bust up or problems with attitude

Probably politely encouraging him to speak with clubs he might not otherwise speak to if he has a cushty job training with the first team and warming the bench.

It possible that the management team are expecting to push on this year and he’s now miles off the first team, more so than last season. You’d think he would have been one of the mid-higher earners from the league 1 squad so makes sense to move him on if they can.

Hilsners training with the main group, and he looks nowhere near championship standard either.

I'm not sure how bombing out with the u23s is going to encourage him to look elsewhere, get him involved, in and around the first team and get him a loan move. Sometimes you have got to offer a carrot.

How can you tell that ?

If he was going to you think he would have made himself undroppable at Oldham, he started well but was soon ineffective and out of the team. He was sent back here early

Thought he least deserved pre season to stake a claim but think the manager has made his mind up

It’s purely a theory but if you have a player who is not necessarily fussed about being a starter and is happy picking up a wage for sitting on the bench then having them train with the reserves may encourage them to make a move. It might be there are offers from lower league teams (probably abroad) which he would be more inclined to take up rather than train with the kids. Ethically you could argue it’s questionable conduct but ultimately plenty of managers do it. There could have been a fall out too as has been said but again that’s purely speculation. The only thing we can take from it is that he is done here.
