Any squad players he wants to move on that are under contract; it will be made as easy as possible.. They wont be haggling for next to nothing fees. They will be more interested in reducing the compensation package.
Spot on
I wouldn't be surprised to see us paying a portion of the wages for some of the European guys

I'd heard Bremang was going to Barnsley
Not sure what's happened there
Newton is a surprise to many
Some feel he's actually better than Reid
But it's all about opinions
Interesting re Barnsley and Bremang. With nee banging them in, not sure where Bremang fits, I guess a loan spell is crucial now. Feel Newton and Williams have a career in league footy, will keep an eye where they end up

Bremang will be straight out on loan for a season I reckon, with the club potentially hoping he can do similar to what Wilson did.

I hear Newton is quite a shy reserved lad off the pitch which may have counted against him

I’d have thought we’d have extended Hyam for a few years. He wasn’t great this season but played his part and we don’t want to lose him for free if he has a good year next time.

Could be do the extension then got time to discuss a new deal or look to sell if he declines. At the very least it gives us another largely capable body in the defence which is looking a bit bare on number at the moment (obv pre-signings)

Newton can count himself a little unlucky from a 23s perspective as his performances were good but was at risk when the club signed Reid who’s a year younger.

Given that our first choice L(W)B was a loanee you'd have thought having the two competing to step up would've been beneficial for both and us. At this stage I can't imagine MR is planning on utilising Mason

Hyam had one poor run of form, but wasn't the only one - the whole team was playing poorly then.

He's been very good at the start and end of the season, Robins clearly likes him as he's played more games than anyone this season.

No. He had a bad patch but even at his best his use of the ball was terrible, like L2 level bad.

It's all about opinions but I couldn't disagree more with this.

His distribution is OK, but it's not L2 level.

He does OK for a right footer on the left but I wonder if Rose plays there next season.

In the last 5 games of the season Hyam had a goal every 2.5 games ratio. He may be the answer to our goalscoring issues. He has shown he can sniff a goal (Millwall) and strike from distance (Barnsley). I may put a bet on him being top scorer next season 😃

Also we still need a squad and options. If Ostigaard is one of our main targets transfer or loan - it could be a very late decision by Brighton like almost at the start of the season. You dont wamt to strip the cupboard too bare. Hyam has improved as season gone on. If heis seen as a squad player can you do better on his wages? So many permatations to consider?

Agree with that other than he improved as season went on. he improved after he missed a few games and could probably have done with that rest earlier.

Wouldn't be surprised to see that happen before we reach the point where he'd be able to speak with other clubs.

Only conjecture on my part, but wondered if the form wobble might have been related to the lack of New contract discussions.

I think even with that he’d be worth a few 100k to a L1 team so not worth letting his contract run down. If he has a good year now he’ll command big money and if he’s middling again we’d still be able to move him for a fee so I’d like to see him signed up for longer.

Maybe Hyams clause triggered so we can sell him! on his day not a bad defender but made some cock ups this season costing us and very slow too

I think we need a better option than Hyam as first choice / competition for Hyam. Had a real shaky patch at a similar time to McCallum, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we were not in a position to rest either.

Basically we should be looking at getting ourselves to a level where all our players are worth a fee, even a small one to the level below, instead of being a lower league team that refreshes with releasing and signing frees.
