Southgate will say we are planning for two years time or further and the fa will lap it up

The FA are clueless and happy with mundane football. Southgate and Boothroyd! Yawn!

I havent watched a single England match since we lost to Croatia in the WC. Partly down to games now being on Sky, mostly because its like pulling teeth!

Don't comment then? Not sure why people get on Southgate back. He clearly is a good player whisperer . We do put together some lovely play at times. We breeze qualifiers and got to semi of the world cup. He's doing s good job

He should of gone after the last big tournament another tactically weak manager at that level, against Croatia they overloaded our left hand side he sat and didn’t know how to react...his handling of Jack grealish has turned the on the fence fans against him but again it’s another case of a player not playing for one of the big clubs The FA need to get rid and fast

Stop talking absolute nonsense. What handling of Jack Grealish? He was in the last squad and, if I’m not mistaken, started all 3 international games. He’s injured. And Mason Mount is a good player. Honestly, fucking rent-a-quote over here hearing something said on Talksport then parroting it as your own for a week.

By god you are not content unless you are demanding a manager be sacked. Were you picked on by your line manager @ McDonalds or something?

Out of all the managers we've had since relegation from the Premier League, I acutally quite liked Boothroyd. He made us much tougher and brought some decent players into the team (Keogh, King).. We had some rough injuries which curtailed our form, and I thought he was unlucky to be dismissed to be honest. We moved onto Andy Thorn of course.....Preferred him to Peter Reid, Chris Coleman & Ian Dowie.

Southgate is a clown his love affair with mason Mount is strange Jack Grealish is by far the best English player in that position even Maddison is far better than Mount

Mason Mount is an incredible talent, the way he's criticised by so many just because he's not as flashy as Grealish, Maddison etc. is criminal but typical football fan mentality.
Thankfully every manager he's ever had knows how important he is.

They say he wasted that generation, history will repeat itself if they leave Southgate in charge of this current crop especially the forward players we currently have

Appointing average managers didn't help, but the golden generation caused their own failures and the majority have admitted to that.

The lack of chemistry between the players due to the rivalry of Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal at the time, seriously hindered our chances of ever becoming a successful side. Sven probably should have done better to break down those barriers between the players but in all honesty I think any manager would have struggled to do that as it was during a time when the PL - and egos - really began to blow up.

It's also an incredibly lazy opinion that feeds to the narrative of the uninformed who barely watch football.

He's probably one of our best players but because of pub talk the typical football fan doesn't want to listen.

Same people that hailed him as Lampard's pet & claimed that as soon as he was sacked no decent manager would pick him...
Of course Tuchel comes in & he's practically first name on the teamsheet.

I don't rate Southgate but then don't see the point of replacing him either. Who with? His results are about what they should be overall. You'd certainly keep him until after the Euros given where we are.

As for the golden generation, unfortunately the talent wasn't as well distributed and different members of that generation peaked at different times, so not sure there was ever a golden period. Didn't often get much luck either.

I don't like Southgate either. His tactics are incredibly negative which only serves to bottleneck our talent at the top end of the pitch, the team often plays with zero intensity and we fail to get the ball up the pitch quick enough. But despite that, there's genuinely nothing to warrant sacking him as he's done far better than any of his predecessors for the past 15 or so years.

I think it'll be interesting to see how we fare against the better international sides, especially in the Euros. I expect us to struggle personally.

Bellingham is a

My view is it should be the quickest step possible as playing against inferior players will not develop them just hold them back, but they need using and not just sitting on the bench.
Bellingham is playing mens football so why does he have to drop into 'kids' football? maybe he would feel a little insulted! If they are good enough they are old enough!

Look at Haaland would you say that he could play unders football?

This attitude is part of the problem. Most of the u21 team play men’s football ffs, it’s not some jolly crèche based out of St George’s Park. And Haaland did his time in his u20/u21 side in 2018-2019. What’s your point?

Mount is not in the same world as Grealish their stats in the premier league show this

Good news Boothroyd is not considering his future position which is good cause he shouldn’t have one.

No doubt the idiot fa have given him a long term contract so he will cost a fortune to get rid of as he won’t resign, these England roles should be relatively low paid with huge win bonuses for winning things not not qualification against people like San Marino and Luxembourg.

Attacking midfielders & your talking about defensive stats 🤣

Oh dear.

Fwiw, it's worth they should both be in the team, just wanted to expose your lack of understanding.

On Boothroyd it must be hard for the players to be interested when he talks a lot have left top managers.

Klopp, Ancelotti, Jose and they have to listen to Aidy Bloody Boothroyd.

When it comes to grealish and mount , there is some big club bias there ...it's hard to look at the stats and say otherwise.

I quite like both tbh , however when it comes to all round game they are quite similar but where grealish excells is defensively , his duals won etc .
It's worth remembering that grealish has similar stats in a much worse team too

Made us tougher? We won once in 16 league games before he was sacked.

Think both either side of Rice would be really good.

According to @Frostie Mount is far better defensively & with ball retention

100% if Grealish played for a top 4 team or London club he would be ahead of Mount,1 is doing it for a average team the other is surrounded by world class players 🤣

The only player England have coming through that looks a typical central midfielder is Bellingham from what I've seen

Like I said they are quite similar but grealish is a bit better defensively ...and aswell he's created a higher % of big chances per game than mount ...and has better long ball accuracy.

Mount passes more per game though
