Major Decisions (1 Viewer)

When were we last awarded a penalty?

When did an opposition player last receive a red card?

One player got a second yellow with about 5 mins left didn't they? Didn't impact the game though. We really are due some decisions

Whenever we get clipped in box we just keep going. Whenever we get hacked down we just get up and jog off and no one is kicking off at the ref.

No shithousery or game management at all. It’s bizarre watching as a fan. It’s probably cost us a fair few extra points this season.

Max last week got clipped and stood up. Kieffer Moore would have done 3 summerdsaults and cried assault in the same situation

It was a foul and in the area I think a different ref would have given that unfortunately we had a “homer” referee.

I think Kelly is quite good at chirping at referees.

^ This.

Have a watch of the highlights from last night's games. 3 soft pens, all bought by the attacker.

Ideally I want us to be an honest, sporting team, but frankly, when everyone else is being c\/nt$, then why shouldn't we.

For us to get penalties we need to have the ball at our feet in the box
we look great in possession until we get to the edge of the area and then we turn back to keep possession
we need someone to take a chance and get into the box to get the opposition to make a tackle if we don't do that we will never get penalties
the opposition do it to us all of the time and that's why we conceded penalties because we dive in to tackle

Still nothing coming out of the lucky box for us so far - so many blocks in the penalty box - need our guys to be in the six yard box to score

Penalties are more likely to be awarded to good teams. Good teams also get fouled more, which leads to more red cards.

We are not a good team.

Seen Rotherham saying the same things they never get awarded stuff it’s clearly the new promoted sides against established champ sides struggling here

Difference being their attackers were clever trying to get the first contact in the area on a 50/50 ball and looking for a penalty. We have to wise up.

I'd like to see that stats on that. O'Hare must be up there with the most fouled player in the league.

But then the teams that come up are not as good as nearly all those already in the Championship, plus the three who come down from the Premier.

We don't have anyone who runs into the box except dacosta.

It's like aa forcefield when we approach. We auto turn back. Mccallum, o hare, Allen, Shipley they all do it. Shipley would rather knock it 30 yards out of play than take someone on at the moment

That said we have been denied some this season you can bet would have been given against.

We are also the most fouled team away from home.

Appears to mean nothing in terms of outcome of games.

We do have the most fouled player in the league though. So by your reckoning also the best?

Edit: just saw Edgys posts change that to “one of”

It's more to do with the fact that both us and / or Rotherham tend to spend a lot less time with the ball in the opposition's area. I remember Strachan commenting once during our 7 game winning run in response to an assertion that we relied on penalties. He said something like "Well, you only get penalties if you spend a lot of time attacking and getting in to good positions"

The correlation isn't as strong as you suggest, so no. But of course I think O'Hare is a decent player. The amount he's fouled suggests that other teams agree he needs to be shut down.

Do we actually appeal and get on at the ref?

The one on DaCosta against Watford, Sarr basically 2 hand pushed him over and we just stood and watched. If you watch other teams then they would be going mad.

Also since there are no crowds you notice it more, a scream always help makes a decision get made.

We don't get the decisions because we don't have the ball in the right areas enough, asking questions of defenders and tempting them into challenges. On the odd occasions we do we aren't streetwise enough to play for them. How many freekicks do we get within 35 yards? Not many at all.

And for all of the fouls on O'Hare the vast majority of them are in the middle third of the pitch.

Its also down to our lack of pace in the final third to really put defenders under pressure. And how many ball carriers? O'hare really and that's it.

Because we don't go down.

O hare wins 75000 free kicks a game but whenever he's in the box he never takes anyone on or he never goes down.

O'Hare started taking players on in the box on Saturday, albeit later in the game. Hopefully he picks up from where he left off - because they will foul him if he does.

You could tell he was royally hacked off so decided tto grab the bull by the horns and just ripped them to shreds. It was great to see

Our players don’t even fight for decisions Kelly and fadz but the rest are flappers
