Council funding for Ricoh Refurb (1 Viewer)

The estimated £5.3 million investment will see a new pavilion installed

This is not refurbishment - this is capital expenditure and will enhance the value of the stadium just at a time WASPS will need to refinance

I am sure that money could be spread better to more deserving businesses in the City

I meant the conference bit, the pavilion is obviously not going to create any jobs as a "legacy".

Food outlets created = rental income for little old Wasps

Would have thought that the existing people would just go in there, guess they could put the price up to them a little bit more because of one more outlet.

They would just chuck some of the existing staff in as well I assume.

Wonder if it's worth asking the council what the net effect on jobs is, given Wasps made a number of redundancies in the last 12 months

100%.

Will they answer though? If it was a lot you would think they would put it in the press release, they usually go mad for a bit of job creation numbers.

The class is not being an arse about me. Like with like. Your last words also say it all really, snide wankery is all the rage around here, splitting into teams and incapable of seeing anything beyond teams, which then means people get a free fucking pass as they have done all through this.

If you can't see that, that says a lot.

Tough crowd.

I actually feel sorry for you. You’re a bright bloke but you’ve continually been walking down fucking dead ends with your choices recently.

It’s the only thing you’ve been consistent with....except with perhaps; hurling abuse when you’re called out and repeatedly barking on about being accused of being a SISU apologist once...like we’re meant to think you’re impartial now. Then you have brass balls to talk about ‘teams’.

I’ve stuck to my opinion on SUSU/Council/Wasps/The Trust and the Ricoh ..and I haven’t been given a reason to change it. In fact, everything I’ve seen over the years, and recently has cemented it. And no, I’m not entrenched, I’m just sure of what I see, read and feel. I’m wide fucking open for a change of heart if I see a reason for one.

You, however are not impartial, you’re just someone that’s been pinning your donkey’s tail on the wrong fucking arse.

Why do they say it’s SISU vs wasps surely it’s CCFC. When talking about wasps they don’t use Richardson’s many company’s

Bit late for Ridley to start piping up now. Fuck off Gary.

Unless he removes the Tory support from CCC it is just a political flag waving exercise
He also needs to come out and comment on the "grant" and his view on the financial benefits to the City of Coventry

Isn't it the same Gary Ridley who has been hiding behind Duggins for years?

When Duggins was bullshitting about the condition of sale being only 4 years, Ridley said this:

Just to re-iterate our position, the Conservative group supports the actions which the council has taken.

Fuck off.

"The Conservative party in Coventry has a policy of supporting Coventry City Football Club", is that a different Conservative party to the one which voted to sell Wasps the Ricoh?

I think it must be, the same bloke is on record saying things a lot different to that.

So, what's changed their mind all of a sudden?

FTFY. Kind of left out the key bit.

Clearly everyone in the council on both sides of the aisle think that Sisu are being litigious for no good reason and should STFU and play at the Ricoh. I’ll leave why they think that up to you.

I think everybody has already decided why you are acting so desperate on these threads.

Ridley has done a U Turn.

If you believe that makes a difference perhaps you can explain how the Conservative councillor voting to sell sell the Ricoh to Wasps has helped our situation?

Again you have trouble distinguishing between me giving an opinion and me clarifying what was actually said.

Im just pointing out that this statement is just a repeat of what was said in previous joint statements. It’s just restating their position, which seems to be: Sisu need to STFU and agree a rental deal at the Ricoh.

On the Ricoh the position is: We couldn’t agree with Sisu, they said they didn’t want it, so we sold to Wasps and if Sisu stop trying to sue everyone then nothing is stopping CCFC playing there.

These have been the positions for years, unchanged.

What’s the U-Turn? I don’t see the difference between that statement and all the other ones TBH.

The same as his old man plotting with Haskell / ACL and Hoffman. How did that one turn out?

Yeah it's really that simple.

Fucking hell, go and have a day off because you are embarrassing yourself.

This does spare to be a issue at CCC from 1 March to 31 August 2019 they show only 2 members got given something.

In 2017 in a 6 month period

Bigham had
£192 VIP tickets to wasps

Duggins had
VIP tickets to one game worth £280+vat
£100 + vat tickets to end of season award
£150+ ticket to a wasps game at Twickenham

Khan had
£150 ticket to wasp

I wonder if any of that effects the 2nd point on the Govs corporate gift document

The Civil Service Code states that Civil Servants must not accept gifts or hospitality or receive other benefits from anyone which might reasonably be seen to compromise their personal judgement or integrity.
They are elected members and therefore public servants aren’t they, not civil servants?

Because all of the other ones have been joint with Duggins, for starters.

Do you know what a U-Turn is?

Jesus this is painful. You say ' the same bloke is on record saying things a lot different to that ', so I've asked where that is. And because it's me you've shat your pants again. FFS. Not shitting up this thread with your nonsense, if you can't answer just don't reply.

I would assume the rules are the same if not tougher. Was first documented I found.
Probably correct mate. I wasn’t trying to be a pedant, just that most public sector employees, including civil servants have to declare any potential conflict of interest On an annual basis.
