Ha ha, yeah I remember Brinner, he was a nice chap and a prolific poster. I seem to remember he was easy to wind up and some people took full advantage.

I can't remember his name but there was a poster on GMK who would always threaten to leave if he got butt hurt, he would start threads about leaving and keep posting on them. He would always return after a couple of days saying he was being the bigger person, I think his wife ran off with his next door neighbour and he had a bit of a melt down.

my god that’s a blast from the past, I remember that, the guy was a nervous wreck, and gmk sure wasn’t the best place to be in that state

you also had Leon & Fidel who were actually brothers, I had some right rumbles with those two then met them & ended up getting on really well- the list goes on

I’m chuckling away remembering Mustapha’s announcements that he was leaving & then seeing him come back after 48 hours- he wasn’t the only one though, there was always someone posting at length the reasons for them leaving.. they always came back :)

What about The_Tactics_Truck? Was CCFC reporter at the Observer, was ran ragged by an organised attack by a few posters (all of whom were badger), got told to fuck off by Micky Adams, got totally disillusioned with football & now works in the Highlands as a park ranger or something similar- he’s a great bloke. But my god he took a gmk-style pasting for a while

Again, I can't think of the names, but do you remember when two posters fell out so bad they organised a fight, some of their mates started posting threatening things to each other? God- yeah, who was that? I was convinced it was a setup when the person claiming to be the wife appeared, it was just too surreal. Was one of them Pierce? I definitely remember the spate of bannings as that was all getting a bit tasty

Ha ha, I remember thinking it was a wind up, maybe the same person trolling until the wife posted, she was not happy. I think you could be right, I think Pierce was one of them, in fact, I think it was his wife who came on.

He's another one who irl I'd have a lot of time for. He was very generous with time and offers of help when I needed something to do with my work, and he didn't have to be. I also suspect his general position is a bit more nuanced, but he fell into the pigeon holing / pigeon holed trap.

I'm in semi-regular contact with Fidel. He currently resides in Bangkok having travelled much of the world in recent years watching football in some very different countries. As for his brother Leon, met him a few times and he's as likeable as Fidel. Both the sort of guys you'd happily spend an evening with watching footy and sharing a good few beers.

yes I agree- the turning point with them was when someone put up something racist & (surprise surprise) I went mad at the poster, arguments about football were put to one side after that. From memory they loved the Argentina team & went watching them in loads of far flung places.

Argentina, Real Madrid and Arsenal in that order. Cov seemed to be 4th in their pecking order. We used to tease them that they (Che, Fidel, Leon) were the same person.
