Wanted to leave the chat clean for consolidates to him, but obviously being relatively new here, is there any way to be able to get data from.the old GMK site (assume it was like sbt) or contact anyone like old admins ect, to possibly be able to get some of his best posts, then we can have an almost memorial of his best bits for him.

Just looking at the archive, didn't realise I had posted on there over 1k times. Anyway, what's happened to Ashdown?

Last seen on here about a year ago shouting Nick down as a Sisu puppet.....

Oh Nick fair play you have a job to do but please....... you're a puppet, a jiggly armed, nodding head , spineless mouthpiece for Joy, you and a few of your alter egos here have done nothing but point the finger elsewhere for our demise for years. You keep saying no one knows the truth but then never reveal it ?........SISU OUT ! the club destroying bastards !!

Just had a quick look through that and found one of his posts, don't need to look for anymore:

Thread: Christmas TV, New shows

"Only fools shag Horses

There's ten stables, half have sexy women in and the other have horses. You have to blindly pick a stable then fuck whatever is inside."
And thus was born ‘Naked Attraction’

He was Foo_Fighter until the unfortunate incident. Led to a long ban. Came back as Fellatio some time later. Not sure of any other usernames he may have had.

pretty certain he wasn’t alan but I’ve always assumed @KersleyDigs on here was a reference to alan

I frequented GMK from about 2001 I think - can't remember the name I used on it now though! It was run by a guy called Neville who then handed it onto Smiler and finally Knowl. To start with it was full of trolls and piss takers like Bob Bones, but there was an awful lot of wit to be found - Holte End Humphrey was one of my favourites I can remember, and also more serious chat for those that wanted it. Other vague recollections are of a 'shitbomb' protest at HR against McGinnity organised by West End something or other, legal threats by the club, the organised breakfast with Jojar Dhinsa, Smiles extensive banned list and frequent melt downs by all and sundry.

At one time it was a really vibrant message board, but by the end it was a shadow of what it had been with a cosy clique dominating and spoiling it. Knowl always seemed reasonable enough but SBJon was another matter (sorry if he now posts on here!) and it was a relief when it ceased to be. Can't remember what year it closed down now, but the writing was definitely on the wall when Otis abandoned ship to come over here!

I’m sure Alan has morphed into the Coventrian . Very similar moderate views

Holte End Humphrey used to make me chuckle.

Like LAST and RIVALS, GMK was trolled (I’m as guilty as the rest of them). GMK could be brutal too....but GMK was funny as fuck, had a cast of characters this board could only dream of and more importantly, understood our club’s growing crisis way before anyone else... we knew it wasn’t all down to SISU. When I joined this forum (after GMK’s demise) former GMK’ers, that hadn’t jumped early, were referred to as ‘SISU Lovers’ ...amongst other things.

So let’s back off with the ‘GMK wasn’t any good’...it more than served a purpose, it was a necessary influence that happed to die...whether it was too soon or too late is really a moot point.

I think we all mellow as we get older and many of the former GMK trolls came here and mellowed somewhat, I can say that for myself and it seems FM did too, barring a few delightful regressions. Old habits die hard sometimes...and before anyone gets on their high horse, that’s what makes any forum, including this one, a great one.

Well said that man ! I still sorely miss GMK or, more precisely, the GMK when it was part of Rivals. The ability to cause havoc on other clubs boards and have their better minds then invade GMK was as good as it comes. GMK was mostly left of centre and it was always going to be a battle ground when the likes of Millwall Online came calling. Also remember Smiler having a pop at a group of guys on the Leicester board who turned out to be Canadians from Toronto who infested our board for a very long time ! They also mellowed and I think it was EssexSkyBlue who a friendly meet with one of them while on a business trip to Toronto. I'm thinking the beer flowed adequately even if Canadian beer is shit !
Alan was always highly amusing but I dont think he's the Coventrian on here. Could be wrong of course. Bob Bones was another supreme character, particularly after a smoke... Of the contributors from other clubs, Birmingham Red was universally detested for being the biggest twat on Rivals while the Hull troll, Dutch Mountain Dog gained a lot of respect for his quick witted piss taking !
Many fond memories of a message board that, for me, went on the downward slope once Sky bought Rivals then closed it down not long afterwards.

Yes. It didn't take a lot of detective work to find out that Alan hadnt been drinking in the Coach and Horses in Hartlepool as that pub name didnt exist in that town ! His attempt to wriggle off the hook included saying said pub was near to the Asda store. At that time, there wasnt an Asda there either !

Rivals was its glory days, the chance to pop over to other boards and abuse them was a fantastic resource.

Turns out a regular on the Watford one is now one of my (many!) bosses. Not sure if I called him a c**t or not, back in't day...

LeedsSkyBlue and his legendary thread, 'Things You Didnt Know About Coventry' on the Watford board ! Hundreds and hundreds of posts did that man put on there....and that's a fact !

From memory the Watford & QPR boards had the sickest humour of all, you wouldn't want to be sensitive venturing over to those ones...

One highlight was Bignoj getting all riled up & putting his home address up, inviting "all comers" to come round and sort things out in person. You'd look at GMK in the morning and there would have been a free for all going on all night, with weird, random, very funny nonsense going on- I suspect that two particular people were working nights, invented their own cast of characters & spent all night playing around with them.
