Where I am there are 722 active cases or 155.8 per 100k people. In Cov it's slightly higher but still only 838 and 228.5 per 100k.

We can't shut down our lives forever waiting for a vaccine while there is currently minimal risk.

Why it’s not against the rules?

Because it massively increases the risk of cross infection. Just cos somethings not against the rules doesn't mean you should do it. There's no rules to stop you shoving the hose end of your vac up your arse - doesn't mean it's not an incredibly stupid thing to do.

I bet there'll be a fair few of those clapping for the NHS putting them under immense strain with A&E that weekend, putting the staff at risk after they've been in direct/indirect contact with hundreds of people. If the weather's nice as well it's going to be a shitshow.

Im going for a pint, the chaps I have a scoop with arent thick as pig shit so 1 metre apart wont be a problem in my yes. Yes others will just ignore the rules but thats their problem if they get ill. I dont see why the majority of the country should suffer because of those cunts.

While I'm sure you'll be sensible how do you know others around you will be. You may keep a metre apart but some other twat might encroach on that, esp after a few. At which point you're going to get a lot of potential aggro plus beer = big problem. Can see quite a few incidents kicking off over distancing etc.

I wish you well and hope you (and Dom) have a nice time and don't get anything. But I'll still be avoiding places like that for a little while yet (although I will admit it's easier for me as I don't drink alcohol)

The guidelines say the 1m is only for the inside seated areas and with mitigation i.e. screens.

Most of the pub will still be 2m so that's his first mistake

I’m led to believe there’s a few pubs in Costa del keresley and surrounding areas who are serving already

If this thread is anything to go by then a lot of people still aren’t interested in going to the pub so perhaps it won’t be the shit show expected?

After that first day at Primark/Nike for instance has there been any other mass queues to get in any shops?

Have to say I’m in two minds about it myself at the moment.

Yeah the more I’m reading about what’s it’s going to be like with the rules etc the more I think I’m going to give it a miss for a bit. Not worth it.

It all sounds like its gonna be a rather bleak & sterile experience if done correctly, or absolute carnage if the rules aren't followed, so either way, I'll be swerving the boozer until I can prop up the bar, chat & interact as per the "old normal".

Just hope the decent back street type boozers survive long enough for that to happen.

To paraphrase Woody Allen - as bleak and empty experiences go, it's not bad.

Can anybody really see the spit and sawdust pubs not showing football and having a sound monitor? What happens if somebody laughs too loud?

That's what i'd do anyway - i wouldn't want to think i was celebrating American Independence Day - we lost, remember! :cigar:

But they've ended up with a lunatic like Trump in charge who makes Johnson look half decent, guns available on the high st and mass shootings are an almost everyday hazard. So not exactly like they're winning long term. ;)

Same. Got excited when it was announced. Now seeing its maximums of 4 or 6. What if you just want a few beers? How will that work 'outdoors' if its pissing down and the people having meals take priority?

Will be shite

If I get back to 7 pints a night 7 days a week and sniff bleach before I go to bed Im sure I will be OK! Oh and Satdee dinner time and Sunday to keep the country going.

With the thousands of Liverpool fans celebrating in the street last night, tens of thousands all heading to the beach and the similar numbers protesting for BLM or the far right in recent weeks, I think theres bigger concerns than people going to the boozer for a distanced pint or two (or seven) !

Of course they’ll be pockets of idiots, as there was before and during lockdown but if people are seriously thinking we should wait until Covid has died out completely we’ll be looking at not only a sad existence for months on end but also millions more out of work

If you’re under 55, fit and healthy and not around others that are high risk, then my personal view is it’s almost up to you (me inc) to help get this country back to the new/distanced normal asap

Each to their own though

Cov is in the past.

Thats it, I am telling them not to let you win the meat raffle.

When I went out in Bristol, we went in a couple of establishments.

First one, loads of student type lads sat around playing board games drinking soft drinks.
Second one, people sat in their with their dogs at 11PM with their dogs clothed.
Third one, appointment only secret bar. Appointment was booked but they didn't like that it was booked for 1 more than was there and didn't let us in.

Ended up in Walkabouts.

Give me the fishman any day and social club dancefloor playing superman.
