I’m starting golf lessons next week, my wife and daughter got me a new set of clubs and lessons for Father’s Day .Im going to use the driving range at John Reays to start me off, have the lessons every other week then use the driving range in between . My friends been playing for a few years too so he said give me a few lessons too

Fair play. Not my cup of tea, but if you enjoy it and it helps you relax, then go for it. Everyone enjoys different things, that's what keeps us interesting. Imagine we were all the same and liked the same! How boring!
Personally though, I dont understand why you would ruin a perfectly good walk by chasing a golf ball

I'm looking at a new hobby, I spend a lot of time hiking and wild camping in the mountains. I've wanted to do YouTube videos to help other people. Give tips and ideas and make vlogs of my trips. I think I'm a bit boring though, and feel as though I couldnt do anything g different to any other hiking vloggers already out there. I now have a 12 week old Working Cocker puppy, I'll be getting her up to full strength and fitness and shell be coming along on most trips, so I think she might make me a little less boring and unique to other vloggers. Might make a video or 2 and see how it goes.

Good craic if you’re playing with a couple of pals, stick to the cheaper courses as to me if you are paying high prices to go to the premium courses, it’s just more expensive bushes and trees to hit your ball in! Good excercise though with a long walk around all day between holes.
We’ll have to have a game squire and get Kev on board :emoji_thumbsup:

I do a bit of fishing in the summer aswell when the football stops and it’s the nice weather. As soon as the football starts again the rods go into hibernation. Not everyone’s cup of tea though I guess.:emoji_fishing_pole_and_fish:

I’m learning a 3D programme. Hoping to get into doing planning drawings for extensions and the like.

If anyone is thinking about an extension I can offer to do the plans for free for a one off whilst I learn the process.

Just passing by, but noticed this. Only thing I'd say is if you want to do it, give it a go! If you're boring nobody'll watch ;) but if it's something you want to do, gives you satisfaction, and maybe *somebody* else benefits, what have you lost?

what's the story with wild camping in England?
I was reading recently that it's legal in Scotland but not England, though if you're on a mountain I'd imagine it's different to plonking yourself in the middle of someones farm. But do you need permission?

Yes, it's legal in scotland (although there are still rules to stick to) and it is also legal on Dartmoor.
The rest of the UK it is effectively illegal.
You have to ask the land owners permission. I never have, but as long as you stick to the unwritten code, you SHOULD be ok. Dont kick off if a farmer ever comes and moves you off of his land. Be respectful. Pitch up late and leave early. Leave no trace (some people use the motto, take nothing but photographs and leave nothing but footprints). Dont pitch up too close to walkways and paths (although that's as much for you as others, you want to be hidden and out of sight as much as possible, you want to enjoy being alone, not with 100 walkers on their way back to the car park). No loud music (kind of defeats the object of being there anyway I think)

I've never had any problems and 1000s of people camp across national parks all over the country, all year round. So as long as your respectful, you should be fine.

Like I say, if I have the dog and my 11yo lad with me also, it might make me seem a bit more interesting

I was supposed to go fishing on Saturday but as it was raining most of the week I thought I’d be cautious as my ankle is still not 100% and I thought it might be too slippy in the embankments

Kev and his lads are up for golf too

Which one are you using? I've been trying fusion 360 which is a learning curve

I’m on sketchup. Getting on really well with it so far. Just need to decide if I’ll make a go at it as the software costs £300 a year, which I’ll need to pay if I want to do plans proper.

That sounds something I could get into. What software do you use and what have you used to learn? (YouTube, udemy, ebooks)

Been trying to get better at IT infrastructure virtulisation.

I have an interest in it anyway but in my field it's definitelt becoming a lot more common, if anything it's been too long so though it would be a double win if I can get better at it career wise and it's something I enjoy!

I use the free version of that when I'm playing around with ideas. Just for a general visualisation than to get really technical though. Also just use the generic colours/textures available than more professional ones - computer getting too old.

I love the grouping and component level too. After 1 day on it I’m happy I can do planning drawings and technical details. I just need one job to do for real before my free trial expires so I can justify the expense for Layout. If I can do 2 jobs a year it will pay for itself.

As I said earlier if anyone is even thinking about getting an extension, please let me do some plans for you for free.

I'm getting on ok but my.practice isnt very structured.
I seem to jump about a bit from one thing to another. I'm doing ok though.
I bought a book called guitar aerobics which gives you an excersise to do daily and that's good

Tossers. The sort of people who ruin it for everyone.
Like we all know to well, 3 or 4 dick head city fans at am away day and we all end up with a bad name.
The sort of behaviour that makes land owners want to kick you off their land. Took the boy up snowdon weekend just gone. Never left a mess like that though

Used to play golf a lot a few years back but cycling obsession took over. It’s a great sport and a game where you think you have it cracked one game then the next you can’t hit a barn door. Used to go to Portugal every year to play, such a great long weekend

Got back into fishing a couple of years ago when I semi-retired after about 50 years. Fished some lakes but far too easy. Now just pop to the Oxford canal at Thrupp once or twice a week. Love the peace and tranquillity. Wife loves it too as she gets the house to herself!
