People are now trying to spin it as Police Brutality because they went straight to the 2 lads.

To be fair, the police (and a couple of city fans) put themselves in the firing line to stop it. The police did nothing wrong there.

Interesting to see how this is being spun, using it as a weapon against the police?

The police were told near us they have a knife people shouting it they went in and took control of a situation without taking a risk and they were right to do so they found the knife

They also stopped the 2 lads from getting injured and put themselves in the middle of it.

People are still blaming the police though and saying they only went to the 2 lads because they were black.

I didn't hear the N word. Maybe I missed it.

I can't believe that all these City fans were a racist mob.

There is a second video where it is clearly said and no surprise.

No excuse for ‘allegedly’ having a knife of course. But fuck this. And that other c**t on the other video.

Whether two men had a knife or not it seems bizarre to label it a racially motivated attack, seems as though the knife is the issue here. There are black lads in this video having a go at them too aren't there?

Love how about 30 more of our fans decided they wanted to try and fight them once the police were stood there

Stood a good 30 yards away the whole time then police turned up and they all decide they're brave enough to go forward now

Without seeing the build up that’s how it looks but the police were told they had a knife and acted on it correctly no doubt about that but i can see why people are seeing it that way

Thats the thing, things will be edited to suit. Even just to have a go at the police who did their job.

I am just surprised more isn't being said about the guy who made the other video.

Im sure I read something last night, That the reason these guys came with knifes was to get the guy from the first video.

Not sure if thats true or not. But im sure I read it last night.

I’ve been in and around Cov fans for years, I mean, I am one for fuck sake. And I can’t see this being racially motivated at all. Overall. I recognise and have spoken to a couple of lads in the video. But the N word was used in that video (the second one) can’t see who by, and I’m in absolutely no doubt a minority of the people involved probably are racist. Standard procedure.

What a fucking shit show all round.

I can understand that to be fair, don't agree with the knives though. I bet a vast majority of people didn't even know what the other c**t had done.

See the way this whole thing is escalating?

People that had no particular grievance are being pitted against each other subsequent to the George Floyd/BLM/antifa and supporters demos/riots/statue smashing - to the extent that it's fucking up our promotion celebrations. People watching the tweet above without context and getting completely the wrong idea. You would almost wonder if it's all planned.

We got promoted ffs - after a spectacular season!

Social media can be truly evil.

Was it a guy in a blue jacket? I have seen a slowed down one where it is clearer and if it was him then hopefully he will be charged too.

The thing is, the actual racist who was being a c**t is being overlooked while a "mob" is being pushed as racist and targeting the 2 lads for no reason. Nobody would have a problem with the first guy getting slaughtered (Id like to think).

I think it's a stretch to blame BLM protests for Cov fans filming themselves being racist (confirmed), mobs of Cov fans chasing people down an alley throwing bottles (confirmed), or armed vigilantes showing up in Broadgate to supposedly try and take out a guy they saw on Facebook Live (unconfirmed). I would tend to blame the people involved.

He was talking about the video of people being chased and not knowing the context.

There is no excusing the prick who made that other video.

Still, you know this.

In addition to this I had a right shock going to my first England game. Racist chanting everywhere. I was cringing my head off. I innocently assumed all football crowds would be like us.

The other thing is that actual racist cunts from elsewhere on social media are going to pick up on it, think loads of cov fans chased a couple of lads because they are black and pull their little dicks over it. I don't want them associated with the club either.
I keep getting called racist on Facebook because I'm stating the fact there was more trouble at the blm protest at the weekend then the cov celebration.

If they can identify the guy using the n word then he should get a ban and be reported to the police as well. No need for that whatever the circumstances.

Disappointing that people on social media who have been campaigning for equality are desperately trying to make out our fanbase, or football supporters in general, are all racists. A couple of racist dickheads turning up isn't representative of us anymore than one protester attacking a police horse represents all protesters.

The simple explanation seems the most plausible as the other option is this was a racist attack like nothing we've seen before from our fans. We've got people who were there saying they had a weapon, supported by what you can hear on the video with people shouting he's got a blade. Then there's a police statement saying a weapon was recovered.

I am horrified than anyone wearing the same shirt as me would make that racist video about the Black Lives Matter placards by Lady Godiva or be in a group that chases two young black men down an alley, with one of you using the n word. It was supposed to be a special day. I left Broadgate after about an hour when people started throwing empty smoke bomb canisters with no thought of who they might hit and injure - kids included. As we walked away we saw around half a dozen blokes pissing in doorways and up the wall at the side of the Cozy Club. Struggled to maintain my joyful feelings today. Or look my friends in the eye who look at me and think how can you associate yourself and be in the same company as these people. My usual reply on bad language or fighting, that these people are in the minority and don’t represent most of us, would ring hollow.

It's not a competition though is it? And there wasn't in Cov for a start, other than the M6 nonsense. It was peaceful.
And the lad who had his head kicked in by the train station, wasn't tryna make it a competition but when there calling us hooligans for backing to lads with a knife into a corner you have to respond.

I read Harrys post more to the fact that at a higher level, people are being pitted against one another, with editing and manipulation taking place within social media to give all of this legs, rather than him blaming BLM specifically for the fall out from yesterday.

Everybody in this thread has denounced the racist who made the racist video against BLM. This is indisputable. I find it amusing that you're still trying to push this as a random racist attack, when again, there were plenty of non-whites at Broadgate yesterday enjoying the day, plenty of eye-witness reports of knives, knives being found by the police, and a zero history in our club of randomly deciding to attack minorities.

The problem was the report of weapons spreading to people in the crowd, not the skin colour of people in the crowd itself.

Why wouldn't they chase them? They were waving knives around

With you on the racist who made the video and the use of the N word

The BBC are also trying to push it as race related.

Stand up to racism demanding arrests (which I agree with for anybody found to be being racist) but no mention of any knife and saying it was a racist attack.

Starting to wonder if I’ve been lucky or just ignorant to have never heard racist chants at the football. Possibly just a little deaf.

To be fair the optics on that second video are shocking, 2 black men chased into a corner whilst having bottles and abuse hurled at them by a bunch of Cov fans... doesn't look good.
