The benefits of Wycombe Oxford Fleetwood and Portsmouth voting for PPG are revenue from Sky and payments reflecting their position they finished in the league. Not sure how much they get from finishing 4 - 6. Surely they won't risk losing income by voting to play on.

To be fair they seem to have ended up with Astute on a free transfer as well. Out the play offs and Obtuse is a hard pill to swallow

Well we are voting to play on. I can’t see Oxford or Fleetwood deserting their principles either. That’s 9 certs imo.
It’ll come down to the Blackpool, Bristol Rovers and Lincoln imo. I think the vote to curtail will win. But not by as much as predicted.
Voting to end; You, Rotherham, Wycombe, Burton, Shrewsbury, Accrington, MK Dons, Rochdale, Wimbledon, Bolton and Southend. So that’s definitely 11.

I was saying earlier these 2 clubs have been guaranteed a place to fight for a promotion prize of 7-9 million pounds.. Why would they risk that by playing 9 games rather than 2 or 3?
Same with Portsmouth (I assume you support)

They’ll vote to play on. There’s no way when they entered the group of 6 teams they would go back on that, especially when the EFL board’s preferred position does technically remain to play on.
I think you’ll win the vote. It’ll not be as big a margin as you think.
Would be surprised if Fleetwood voted to play on. They’ll fancy their chances against Wycombe in the play off semi

It’s not about the playoff games. It’s about principles as I’ve said. Clubs wouldn’t have entered a partnership without that intention.
You say it’s about risking a playoff place. It’s about more than that.
I don’t blame you for voting the way you will. It’s a guaranteed preserve for your club. But Accrington and the like want to mothball L1.

West Ham & Bournemouth have both played 29 games. They have both played the exact same number of Home (14) and Away games (15). They both have the same number of points, and West Ham have a better goal difference. Under wPPG Bournemouth move above West Ham.
So what this means is that wPPG is not basing the results of the league based on the results of the 29 games, in actual fact it is deciding based on the predicted results of the remaining 9 games. That's a massive concept change from what PPG is trying to do.
Once you get into the prediction game we are going to have to start looking at which teams have top half teams to play away from home and so on. You open a massive can of worms with wPPG.

There's no way, when push comes to shove that any of those 6 teams really give a shit about any of the others. I think they'd all fuck each other over for guaranteed promotion. I think they'd fuck each other over even for a chance of promotion. Therefore the vote will be comprehensively on the side of finishing now.
Tbh, it wouldn't matter to us either way. We were a mile better than anyone else in this league. Play on we would be champions. PPG we'll be champions.

It’s not about principles it’s about what’s best for their team. You think if Fleetwood were top they would vote to carry on because of principles. The group of 6 will split in the vote I think.
Irrelevant for us anyway. Play on and we’ll extend our lead at the top.

It’s not about promotion, this is about the pyramid. L1 and 2 are in massive trouble here.
I don’t blame you. You’ve got a chance to go up by voting for yourselves and that in turn secured your future. It’ll never happen again.
But if L1 doesn’t come back, that’s it for L1 football for 12 months imo. Won’t affect you. Could affect us if we lose. Will affect Sunderland and Ipswich.
It’ll be something like 14-9 in your favour imo.

A bunch of teams are going to go on furlough for as long as possible. It may well end up that half the teams in L1 & L2 cannot resume, and we end up with the 24 teams that want to play next season, and the remaining teams will come back as L2. Crazy suggestion I guess, but nothing would surprise me right now. There will be a 3rd tier next year I am certain of that.

They'd essentially be voting to risk their play off place and play games they'll lose money playing to chance their arm getting an automatic place.
Are they going to do that?
Bearing in mind both Oxford and Boro have to play us away which is pretty much a guarantee of dropped points.
Maybe it's the Cov pessimist in me, but I am surprised at the confidence on this page. Can definitely see a scenario where majority of clubs choose to play on (although unlikely). Also, it has to go through a vote from the whole EFL, which will inevitably be influenced by the Premier League. If they have any problems restarting then there's a good chance this could go on for a while or even result in null and void. It wouldn't be Coventry without doing it the hard way...
