Promotion party (1 Viewer)

Just an idea, maybe @Nick or @Mild-Mannered Janitor or Maybe CJ could push it, but if we do get given the expected news of winning the league next week, I've thought of what could be the next best thing.

Of course we can't have the promotion party we all want due to the current situation. But that doesn't mean we cannot celebrate with family members we live with, neighbours etc.

Wouldn't it be decent if everyone took pics or videos of themselves in City Shirts, full kits, flags out of windows, flags out of cars, setting off sky blue smoke bombs in gardens, champagne bottles popping open whilst playing city songs full pelt out of there stereos, and get it shared all over social media, news outlets etc.

Feel we can't let our first league win in 50 odd years go past with a tiny little 'meh' due to corona.

Probably talking shit but hey ho.

Feel it would be good for the players too. They are quite active on social media, and its not just us fans missing out on the party, of course they would want to be together and celebrating too! Feel seeing us all celebrating across social media would go at least some way to showing them how happy they would have made us

Cracking idea...those videos of people kicking bog rolls around are easy enough to do, pretty sure we could knock something like that up ... Lets not jump the gun though lads, plenty of time for the EFL to bottle it, or jelous types to vote bitterly.

Great idea. I know my two lads would love it, and it’d be a massive boost to all staff at CCFC to see this, winning the league and despite the mess created by Covid-19, our fans united in celebration and support of the work done by all the staff, playing and non.
Fingers crossed the EFL deal with it all properly now and we seal the win

God I fucking hate smoke bombs. If there's an item more damaging to my asthma, I've yet to find it, so be considerate folks!

What about a co ordinated celebration, Saturday following announcement at a certain time, try and create some noise in Coventry?

Thats a fantastic shout. 3pm of course being the time to do it. Is there anyone here that can get maybe CWR to get everyone to beep their horns for a minute at 3pm on the closest Saturday to the announcement if they're out and about? Everyone then let off thier smoke bombs and sing sky blue army at the same time?

Im shit at stuff like this but feel we should get it to gain traction and see where we end up?

If anyone knows anyone that can push it or even push it on our own social medias?

Can we wait and see what happens first?

This is making me more nervous.
Yep!

We have no idea what is going to happen.
Growing consensus that season will not continue, it's what is done from there which is a total unknown.
One thing that has happened though is that the team have put themselves in the best possible position that they can be for most scenarios....

Covid 19?
Nah had that already in late January (before anyone here had officially had it!). Very very nasty, so hard to breath. If I'd known what it was at the time I would have gone to hospital...

Smoke bombs are just hell for asthma in general. It's the same with vaping-I go to a lot less games than I used to as I spend half the match getting stewards to ask the vapers around me to stop (and then again, when they sneak another one when the stewards aint looking)!

I agree, but isnt it an idea to have something decent in place for if (when) it does happen?

Feel it would be good to get the ball rolling (pardon the pun) so there is something in place.

We deserve it, the players deserve it and if we get promoted im sure none of us can forgive ourselves if it went by with a meh

Seen it twice unofficially confirmed now but won’t be comfortable until it comes from the EFL. Feels a bit flat but would be good to put it to bed now then can mildly celebrate.

It would have been great to see it pan out normally, but the team have earned their place at the top with so much hard work over the course of the season, they, and us deserve to celebrate it properly, that's what I'll be doing if it is confirmed.

Yeah. Shame we won't get to thank the players especially the loanees but some people didnt get to be by the side of their loved ones in their final hours through all this so we need to maintain a bit of perspective no matter the disappointment.
