Watched it twice today, how many did Big Cyrille miss, great memories, went with 3 mates and one of there dad's, got to the turnstile and my mate realised he left his ticket in the car, so we all had to walk back with an absolute fuming dad, still got in for kick off!
Happy Days!

I cannot believe it’s 33 years ago......mental.

Remembering the noise of 26,000 ecstatic fans, so emotional I was utterly drained of energy after that game.

No one could believe we were going to Wembley, the joy that day amongst the fans who were there and people back in Cov was immeasurable.

Great times, they really were.

The noise when we equalised may be the loudest I ever heard us- that kop had some atmosphere.

That was better than sex. Almost a religious experience! :joyful:

Fantastic to see the highlights of this classic. I agree the reaction to the equaliser was unbelievable and something that has/will live with me forever. The noise of the 21k Sky Blue army on the kop was deafening. I was with a group of 5 lads and we all got separated after the goal as it was manic.
Looking back I forgot how many really good chances we missed and also the couple of outstanding saves made by Oggy. We were all in dreamland on the way back home as the reality struck home that Cov were going to Wembley.

Yes I went to all the FA cup games that season and these are my thoughts
Bolton H - very cold day and a routine victory.
Man Utd A - looking back there were not that many city fans there. I was in the seated stand and we did not sell all the seats. These were sold on match day to United supporters which made it a bit odd atmosphere near us. This did not stop us singing our deserved victory. I think it was the first time United had lost an FA cup tie at home foe about 30 years.
Stoke A - The standing area was so crowded and it was very difficult to move. We had our luck in this game as they had a great shout for a penalty. Atmosphere with the 8k Sky Blue army was great.
Sheff Weds A - This is my favourite game of all time with the 14k fans creating an unforgettable atmosphere. I was good mates with a Wednesday fan who told me it was the best away support he had ever witnessed at Hillsborough. We played superb with Cyrille and Benno world class
Leeds SF - as mentioned in my previous post the highlights show what an end to end game it was, again fantastic day
Spurs F - I felt gutted after their early goal and at half time when we were 2-1 down. My greatest memory was when my mate said as Benno crossed to Houchen - “ We are going to score now “ and he was right. At the end I was emotionally drained but got my second wind back after a beer or ten that evening.
Happy Days

I remember Cyrille missing a couple and Oggy’s saves. Cyrille really did miss more than a couple and Martin Tyler summer it up really-
“It’s a typical Regis move, but not a typical Regis finish”.
The Leeds equaliser late on also added to the experience.

I did every game in that cup run too, but have very different memories of Old Trafford.

I was standing behind the goal where Houch scored and it was packed with City fans.i remember singing “George and John’s Sky Blue Army” non stop during the second half.

Great great memories.
Where has the time gone !

There have been some ups and downs since but nothing like April and May 1987.

The play off second leg at Notts County was the closest in my opinion plus the two Wembley trips, of course.
