If they play them BCD I’m going to order smoke bombs online and go mental like it’s the copa libertadores
Every time my missus would come in with a cup of tea I'd be shouting 'Who are ya, who are ya!'

Either that, or if she spilled it 'You're going home in an ambulance!'

Giles would be starting now if McCallum didn't come back on loan...so why wouldn't he come back next season, he'd go straight in and we need to replace McCallum so makes perfect sense

ok so if it went to a vote...

Who would rather an average points scenario, end of season now
Who would rather play the games out behind closed doors

I suspect I know the answer....
Average points.

Why average points people?

I want to see some football
This the City, so always a fear that we migh come back a bit rusty, lose a couple of games and then have teams within just a couple of points, breathing down our necks.

Could really wobble off the back of that.

It's been a long time without football and you just don't know whether we will continue the momentum we previously had, unabated.

We’re good enough to win this league. I want it for real.

It'll be the same for everyone. I imagine they wouldn't rush back into games immediately and likely have some friendlies first

I’d rather the games be played. Win it on merit (although I suppose PPG is also merit). Behind closed doors is just about acceptable in the circumstances for me. Provided we can watch it, of course. Genuinely think we have more than enough to take the title regardless of a dip in match fitness.

Throw in some canned atmosphere maybe? perhaps from Boxing Day when we beat Arsenal and the villa win around that time. Tongue slightly in cheek there.

Anything other than voiding the whole thing though. Would take PPG over that obviously.

Yes, exactly. The same for everyone. If we play someone and we are both rusty, we may not have the fluidity or momentum we previously enjoyed.

Average points or judge all outstanding games as 0-0.

The current tables are more likely in my opinion to more representative of final places if suspension had not happened compared to having a 2 or 3 month break possibly with different players and no fans.

The current tables are this year are remarkably in sync with the games played by team in each league. Variation is minimal
Premier - 4 teams are behind by 1 game compared to other 16
Championship - All played the same
League 1 - More of a difference likely caused by sad demise of Bury . There is a variation on 2 games in some cases.
14 teams played 35 , 7 played 34 and 2 played 36
League 2 - 8 teams are behind by 1 game compared to other 16

Nothing is perfect before anyone else jumps in and starts mentioning that some times had easier run-ins in theory than some other teams.

Games played. Having got this far even if we went up as champions on avg points it'd feel sullied. I'd rather go up properly or fail utterly on resumption.

I think on balance... let’s play the games and win this thing the right way. I get the nerves but MR is on top of all the eventualities I’m sure.

So if she spilled it you wouldn't be going "wooooooaaahhhh, you're shit AH! everytime afterwards?

Or at least a resounding chorus of 'dodgy keeper'

Just thinking out loud, what do we think would bring the clubs more money. Millions of people subscribing to a blanket ticket to watch ALL games behind closed doors to end of season or the actual fans of each club buying their clubs individual games only? Moot point I’m sure as the big boys wouldn’t allow it but for Cov and other league 1 clubs I imagine they would be better off with a subscription service.

Hard to say, but the big clubs would kick off wanting far more of it.

I guess if all games were available the money could be divided out depending on viewers?

Most likely will be within the clubs own subscription service I'd have thought.

I know.

It is annoying actually. I get quite a few kids write to me. The oldest that writes to me on there is 67 and the youngest, 14.

I think they should maybe put an age limit on it.

Are the kids doing it as part of helping towards learning languages for school?

We won’t have to - it’s impossible to restrict that long. I promise I’m not getting into political arguments here but the economy I’ll dictate a return. Italy have pretty much admitted unless they return to normal they are bankrupt and are threatening to break up the EU - something will have to give and people make choices to go or not

Finishing this season as and when makes loads more sense - it gives an open-ended timescale. If you void this one (and the problems that would cause) just to start the next one, that may end up being disrupted too and you've fucked two seasons.

Come back whenever it's safe, whether it's next month or next year and you've got options open - an early restart would allow next season to be played, a much later one would give the option to cancel next season as a whole. Far more sensible.

As for the economy dictating a return, the ONLY thing that should dictate a return is if it's safe to do so on a health basis. Any other reason is absolutely fucked up. But I'm not going to say any more in case it corrupts this thread to.

Top of my head, but what about a personal online Q&A session for fans with their favourite player.

Pay something like a fiver or £7.99 and you get a 10 min video call with your favourite player and they also send you maybe a Sky Blue pin badge and car sticker or something in the post..

Must be loads of people wanting to talk to Godden about his hair, or people wanting to ask Dabo how come he's just so damn good.

Do I also get access to their personal private Snapchat and 10 free nudes?

couldn't give a fuck about football at the minute to be honest.
Don't think that will change until I'm on my way to the train station for the next game or settling down with a carry out to watch it on tele if it's behind closed doors.

Shouldn't you be browsing pornhub instead of SBT then?

Nope. I only shout that if I go to the toilet and a lift up the toilet seat and she hasn't flushed after number two.

I then call her in, point at it and declare 'Your shit.'

“A bird in the hand” and all that, given the choice why would we not take the promotion and have plenty of
time for MR and co to prepare for an assault on the Championship.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that ‘had the season not been interrupted we would have gone on
and extended our lead at the top, but it was interrupted and we don’t know how we would Respond to that.
If we have to play the season out fine ‘and I think we would get promoted BUT given the choice I can’t help
thinking that choosing to play ‘would be tempting fate.
And when all’s said and done ‘we are Coventry City FC.

Anyone know how the players are keeping their fitness levels topped up, even under furlough? Or if all is well with regards to no symptoms etc?

Tbf now the players are furloughed they don't have to. It will all be done on faith, as the criteria to get the funding from the government is very fit.

Hence the statement in the ccfc press release along the lines of : we are sure the players will remain professional and keep their fitness standards. Which I expect they will tbf but the club, technically can't even contact them to give them new fitness programs.

Strava tells you that they're all on a similar plan. Though there is no doubt no contractual obligation to do it.

The Scottish FA has announced that their season will re-start on June 10th at the earliest, interestingly the 42 Scottish clubs are voting today on wether to finish their championship and league one season and league positions to be as they are currently. Should that happen I can’t see our FA being different to the Scottish
