What is confusing to me is why we have the same discussion about this every day yet people still act surprised.

The ONS figures are more accurate but don’t come out daily and are always weeks later as they allow time for everything to be reported and allocated to the date of death rather than date of reporting.

But even those figures won’t be completely accurate. The closest we’ll probably get is comparing the total death rate (all causes) to the same time in previous years.
How can you be confused that many on here have an agenda to keep up with?

Labour good Tories bad. Tories good Labour bad. Black person good target. Black person racist target.

My moral understanding of the British public has taken a big hit recently.

This is more than party politics. This is more than racism and perceived racism. It is about life and death. The real thing that matters. Had enough of the point scoring.

You’re not the only one ! What they are saying (and to be fair I’ve heard the medical officers saying it previously) is that the daily death numbers aren’t just the deaths that have occurred on that given day

ps as far as I’m aware the confirmed cases are more accurate assessment of the numbers for that day (might be wrong though).
There is a lag there too, new case numbers per day are possibly inaccurate in some respects as they don't reflect when somebody was tested. I think it takes a couple of days to get a positive confirmation at least.

While the rest of the country has pretty effortlessly switched to working from home it seems MPs need an extra £10K in expenses allowance to do the same. At the same time rules will be relaxed so they don't need to provide any proof of what the money they claim has been spent on. Can't see any chance of that system being abused.

All while criticising footballers for not taking a pay cut.

Smarmy bastards.

Don't they mostly work from one of their houses anyway? 10k?

Shame on them.

Given that you said the Russian army was patrolling the streets of Italy it’s probably best advised that you don’t go down that route.

Fascinating story - got a link?

He's right though. Astute did predict this and is now claiming the national trust closing their parks as a vindication

The trust closed well before the army exclusive

And you came back to this thread after a few days behind the lines? I’d leave em to it.. That isn’t a slight on you. This thread is toxic.
You are not wrong. Was never going to post on here again. But human inquisitivity kept me reading.

Racist posts that were clearly racist. Racist accusations that were clearly not racist. Bullshit that was clearly bullshit.

And that was the first page in about 200. Some people seriously need help.

lol- everyone kept telling me about Youghal, went there and its like the lights were all switched off in about 1983
Never been. It was always either Bundoran, Portrush or Newcastle we went to when I was a kid. Portrush was always my favourite as it had a good funfair and the Giants Causway but my memory of Newcastle is it had the best beach. Long time ago though.

Fake news. It’s up to £10k that can be claimed for staff purely to enable them to work from home if they can’t already, it’s not £10k for MPs and like all other expenses it’ll be audited.

Such as? What's racist about saying London is a multicultural shithole? I never mentioned race.
Twat.
Oh dear. Great description of a City with one of the strongest economies in the world, thanks in a large part due to the multicultural sharing of ideas fuelled by flexible workforce and immigration. Try keeping an open mind and getting yourself some proper education. You are never to old to learn.

London is a shithole in many places. London is multicultural in many places. Nobody can deny this.

But to say London is a shithole and multicultural is a different matter. It just puts a different slant to the truth.

Right il say it, but don't think it will go down well..

This supposed lax monitoring of the lockdown by police etc. Anyone thought it may be intentional? Lets say what, 80-85 % of the population are observing this lockdown best we can. The remaining 15 -20% doing basically what they want, isn't that putting towards any sort of 'herd immunity' whether thats needed or not. You add this to the supposed 30% of asymptomatic infections that numerous studies have mentioned, thats pushing 50% of the population infected.

They are putting themselves at large risk of infection, but isn't this just natural selection taking place if they are too thick to grasp the concept of lockdown?

Maybe a bit tin foil hat, but its the only reason i can see for the lack of strictness coming from the government. I see it as If the idiots want to infect themselves crack on basically, it's their own risk and will still be manageable levels in ICU

And here is one of the problems. The truth hurts.

The other problem is that the idiots infect those who aren't idiots. Not many but 1 is more than enough.

I never criticised London for being multicultural you div, saying it was a shit show was in reference to the Coronavirus. So if you could not lump me in with Coventrian that would be great, thanks.

But what would ever make anybody think that a proportion ot the population aren’t idiots, Of course
they are ‘some are proud of it, if they were ever serious about a complete lockdown then the only
Way to achieve it is to completely lockdown ‘no ifs or buts.

As the old saying goes ‘If you give them an inch ‘they’ll take a Mile’ :emoji_thinking: solution ‘don’t give em an Inch.

So I assume you’d ban all supermarkets as they are now the biggest likely source of infection

The chief constable of Northamptonshire is having a mare.

Gave a press briefing saying his force would check trolleys and baskets for non essential items. 10 spokesman says once again that if a shop is deemed essential and remains open once there you can buy anything in said store. Chief constable pretends he didn't say this even though his briefing was filmed.

The dibble are having an awful pandemic

Woman I work with is married to a copper. He says it's absolutely dead at the minute as crime has plummeted (he works for W Yorkshire police in Leeds). This is definitely a case of the old bill making themselves busy.
