How's Everyone Getting On ? (1 Viewer)

As we are a few weeks in with this virus lockdown, just want to know how all on here is coping etc ? I find some days really boring, but others not so bad. I'm having a break from work for a while but can't wait to get out and about again, health willing obviously. Missing the football and the pub and banter that goes hand in hand on matchdays. Filling days listening to music and going on walks for an hour, and a bit of reading when concentration levels are okay. What about you ?

Fine.

Not bored at all for a single second.

Keeping busy all day. Taking the dog out, watching TV, writing, playing my keyboards, making stuff.

It's only all the stories and concern for everyone's health that are getting me down at times.

Fine thanks BBR - working from home as per my contracted hours (lucky in that regard).
Also lucky that Mrs OSB is doing pretty much the same, and is rather better company than the people i'm forced to share my days with in the office (which is why i am married to her, not them!).
Still able to have "normal" evenings, and can distinguish between workdays and weekends. Not great social animals, so not too worried about the pub, etc, though the getting out and about thing is a bit of a pisser.
Trying hard to ignore the conspiracy theorists and government critics, who are not doing ANY good, in my view.
Hope the numbers start to drop soon, and that we can roll out mass immunity testing.

Not great, tbh.

Ended up taking last week off sick because it all got a bit overwhelming. Also got toothache that, I have no idea if it's 'real' or not. I know I needed work on those teeth, but with time to think...

And yesterday I started getting a dry, tickly cough. Now, this could just as easily be the cleaning products after doing the house all over, but of course who knows, now! As (not quite!) Mrs Wisdom is in the vulnerable category I've decided to do the full-on in-house isolation, which is a challenge tbh as the house is quite small. Added to the fact, we gave our spare bed away a couple of months ago and didn't replace it, so I've slept on the floor in the spare room!

I can't help but think that sometimes too much information can be a bad thing...

I had a dry cough last week. Does cause a little flag in your brain doesn't it.

Good luck, NW.

I have an air bed if you want it. It's in our loft.

It’s not to bad we have the children off and we are both still working full time (we are both spending more time at work than before unfortunately)

my wife is worried that she may end up back in the frontline and her boss seems to be pushing her that way so she won’t have to go.

Funny you mentioning the toothache thing. I've had a couple of days when my chest was a bit tight, but all the teeth in my bottom jaw ached really badly for about a day. But that has been it - i wonder if that's what they mean by mild symptoms. Not heard of the teeth one before.
Will definitely be putting myself forward for antibody testing when it gets rolled out - i'd be fascinated to see if i had it.
But the second half of Feb, i had a horrible chesty cough (but with added phlegm, which they say isn't a Covid thing) - got some antibiotics from the quack, then buggered off to France on a skiing holiday.
I wonder ...!

Ha.

I meant I can get it out and if there is anyway you or your missus can pick it up, I can leave it in the garden or something.
I know ;)

Thanks for the offer, appreciated. But it's a week where I'll either end up with it,. or we'll laugh about the overreaction. Either way, I may as well hunker down and deal with it. If it gets too awful, I will take you up on it mind you!

Well, I knew I needed work doing, but I was holding off until after I got married as they were giving me no gip, and potentially I might lose the front teeth (not a look for a wedding photo!!). So I don't know if it's having too much time now makes me think of that, or it really is the time they start to hurt as would happen eventually.

Alas, my dentist isn't taking pateints atm, to tell me! So I have a prescription for some antibiotics, but the chemist was out of half of the prescription(!) And now, of course, I can't go there to pick up the rest!

Also woke up with a tickly cough today and don't feel "right".

However, will see how it goes and hopefully it is just in case of drinking far too much over the weekend and the body taking time to recover.

That's the thing isn't it. I feel... alright, bar the cough. In normal circumstances I'd go to work and get on with life!

Of course in an ideal world, we'd both have it, but really mild, and just get over it with no harm done(!)

Doing ok , been on the practical side of things at work rather then working from home. Prefer to do that as I feel I’m actual working . Wouldn’t mind exercising abit more just walking the dog and had a tentative attempt at running again yesterday ankle held up ok but is sore today

Doing ok at the moment.

I'm working from home full time now but it's not too different to my usual working week, when I work from 3 days a week.

What is playing on my mind though, is my wife. She's on the 'frontline' within the NHS and every day is working with COVID-19 patients.
I wish her the best, Bezzer.

My missus just works in a shop and that is worrying enough. I can only imagine what it must feel like having a loved on working on the frontline.

Hating working from home and want to kill my kids. But all seems trivial after speaking to family last night. Got family members with it in Liverpool with one who is not going to get through it....it’s horrible knowing we won’t get to see him again and when I get up to see my family he’s not going to be there to have a beer and Footie banter with.

My wife’s a nurse at uhcw and has been told of 4 confirmed cases on her ward , difficult times ahead

Not a lot I can say to that. Sympathies of course, but awful to not be able to even say goodbye.

Thankyou ..It really is for his daughter and his Mrs...an unfolding nightmare as they deal with the virus themselves now....... been reading his posts on Facebook..... like us all... he shared the comedy virus stuff to keep us smiling... and like most of us thought... it won’t touch our own family. Although he’s a red he bought the 2 tone top and loved it!!!! Survived Hillsboro to get fecked over by a virus... pfffffffffff

Cheers Otis, she had a wobble on Friday as she has never felt helpless at work but she did then.
And then she had a bit of a cry last night as one of her colleagues has been tested
positive for it .But she did have the best part of a bottle of Prosecco down her so it was purely a coincidence

Thanks Otis.

As for your wife, it's not 'just working in a shop' she too is front line and deserves huge respect.

All good B.
A big worry was my son. Locking up a 17 year old isn't easy but he's been sound so far be fair to him.

His hours excersise has turned in to 2 or 3 hours a couple of times but in general he's been good as gold.

Don't think I'd have been able to do it at 17 although we didn't have the internet, Netflix, Sky etc.

Yes, true, I just meant compared to doctors and nurses who are trying to save lives.
We hear a lot about the NHS frontline not getting access to facemasks, etc, but the majority of them are protected, i think. PHE guidance for pharmacists in the NHS needing to wear a surgical mask when unable to keep the 2m separation is an indication of the potential risk your wife faces.
Fingers crossed for all of you.

Usually, I'll watch no more then a few hours of TV a week, past 2 weeks, I've just been binge watching Netflix, 10+ hours a day, just playing video games and stuff like that like lately, don't seem to have the concentration too read a book. First week I found easy, three weeks in and I'm struggling a bit now, missing human contact.

Found myself just eating for the sake of it as well.

I've contacted some of my customers telling them by text I'm having a break from cleaning windows for a bit. All understood and said see you soon etc.
But had a call from one elderly lady who I've cleaned her windows for years. She wanted to know where I'd been as I'd not been to hers for about 6 weeks ? Told her about the virus being a bit risky at the moment, but will be round in the not too distant future. I thought she'd say fine. But she went on saying was I ill then ? When I said no she said come round then and clean her windows. She's in her 80s and I've known her for years so am now going round in a few days to do the job. She said I've got your favourite biscuits. I've gone soft !

My mum's window cleaner came to do hers last week, at 89 (surprised he can get up the ladder!). He wanted exact money only - she left it on the doormat and retreated inside. You can't catch it through a closed window - get back to it BBR, you lazy git!

Our window cleaner by us is still working, well that’s what they posted on FB.

I’m not doing great TBH. Isolation starting to play to my anxiety, eating crap and had all my energy sapped as I’ve been ill since it started but not I’ll enough not to work from home.

Webt for my first sanctioned walk yesterday, only half an hour in the woods but came back and slept for three hours I was so knackered. Felt better for getting outside though. Hoping this cough is finally on the way out after improvement yesterday, then I’ll start exercising daily and I think that’ll help a lot. No energy means no cleaning either which is never good for the soul.
