Enjoying the day with my best mate and son...amazing memories of the walk up to Wembley ..dont like the in our Coventry homes song but it was awesome on the day, the waves of Cov fans the atmosphere and Thomas goal fucking hell what a day

Just how proud I was of everything Coventry City FC related. After everything we'd been through up to that point, having been relegated and probably underdogs for the final, it was amazing to be part of what, 43k Cov fans singing the Sky Blue song. Goosebumps.
A friends video came up on FB this morning of me celebrating the 2nd goal. Perfect memories for times like these.

Everything about the day was epic. Walked into town from Keresley about 7am saw fans outside pubs in sky blue. Arrived into town a bit early so nipped into the Litten Tree for a quick pint. Got to the train station to be greeted by chaos, Met my dad who had cycled up to the station. Managed to get on our 9:10am train (ended up stood up in first class) everyone singing all the way down. Got off the train to a belting chorus of the Sky Blue song which lasted all the way through Euston Station. Nipped into the Doric Arch for a few ales, Clocked Ricky Hatton sat with his Trainer enjoying a Guinness behind us(as did several other city fans) After several beers and a bit of Breakfast we jumped on the tube whilst a few City fans entertained local children on board by singing I wanna be like you and Let's go fly a Kite (after realising they'd become upset by chants such as Shit on the Villa) Piled off the tube and down the steps to be greeted (For my first time) by Wembley, Thousands of Sky Blues milling about towards the stadium. Met up with a couple of friends before hiking to the top tier (Escalators in a football stadium? Madness) Walking out into the bowl into that sea of sky blue was an incredible feeling and the noise when the team came out, When we scored, When the final whistle went, When we lifted the trophy was deafening. In hindsight I feel a little bad for Oxford fans as it just seemed to be our day from start to finish But Fuck me did we deserve it after years of fuck all. What a great fucking day and a little over 12 months later I'd get to do it all over again.

Train ran out of beer so had bottles of wine. stood in the queue at the station with some cans in the sunshiiinnneee....

got the train from International - thinking ahead, so was a comfy seat all the way down, with a table to rest my cans on

Simply couldn't be arsed with the arduous 220 mile trek down south for the paint pot.......briefly regretted my decision for about 2 minutes while they lifted the trophy on TV.....then felt incredibly smug that I was already at home & didn't have to deal with the nightmare of getting home again....

got a coach from Rugby, my son and future son-in-law with me, had a brilliant day out first time they had seen us win any trophy, and sooooo many SBA. Taking the piss out of Oxford yellows

1. Drove down the A40 & M40 with the scarf out the window (once through Oxford!!) - virtually every car was Sky Blue, similarly bedecked.
2. Got the Metropolitan Line in from Hillingdon - pretty quiet, and good mix of us and Oxford. But got off at Wembley Park to walk down the steps, and bugger me everything seemed Sky Blue.
3. Seeing 43K there, and the noise and togetherness of the singing gave me goosebumps.
4. Thomas' goal and the roar.
5. Burge's last minute goal-line save (how did that stay out?)
6. Walking back up Wembley Way and turning to see our name on the screens!!
7. Sharing all that with Mrs OSB - priceless!

Not been to Wembley before so was really excited - we drove to Ruislip and got the train met my BIL and walked to the pub - what a great atmosphere bought 2 drinks at a time and then walked to the ground amongst even more Sky Blue army - we were the better team , I just watched the goals again - Burge did well - great goal from Thomas - after back to the same pub - didn’t matter who we were playing we were feeling like winners ! Thanks for the memory Mark Robins
