Not sure if someone’s provided an update on cases/numbers but for anyone interested .....infections have increased by 2,493 (yesterday was 2546 I think) and deaths by 209 (yesterday 260)
Obviously not great but stable(ish), which I think is good as we can hope for over the next couple of weeks

Salmonella? It’s a natural bacteria in the guts of poultry and other types of animals in the food chain. Dozens die each year in the U.K. from it but the government hasn’t stopped us consuming it (the infection rate and death rate in the US is far higher because of their standard practices). Bovine TB? It’s a respiratory virus that passes to humans from a number of animals. Has the government stopped us eating beef and dairy products? Covid19 is a mutation of the Coronavirus which has been around forever. What’s to say bovine TB won’t mutate, become immune to pasteurisation of milk, be more contagious to humans, have more serious symptoms and become a pandemic killing thousands? Same can be said for foot and mouth. I’m sure we all remember the cow bonfires in the U.K.

It's not a racist statement. Its clearly preferable to live in England rather than China, just as I'm sure there are countries to live in that are preferable to live in over England. Not everything has to be equal.

“What we have now is a warned catastrophe," she said.
"We saw big alarming gaps in the preparedness of the world and found compelling evidence of a very real threat."

If we don’t wake up this will happen again and again. The systems in place in the world right now- you couldn’t design them any better in order to spread disease & viruses- got to change everything, together, stop blaming everybody else for everything.
