Read another statement from Richard Keys reiterating this season must be cancelled mantra saying there are some clubs agree with him (bet one is a West Ham official) what is this bloke on ? or does he just enjoy the oxygen of his own voice. The FA, Prem and EFL have stated their stance quiet correctly imo, to complete the season as and when they can. Wtf is the difference from playing out this season whether it’s May,June,July even August then starting the new season in the Autumn or even later, re-jigging fixture dates for the next season.
Just pisses me off a bloke no longer involved or part of the British game stating crap from about 3000 miles away, then re-stating it as if someone has given him a nudge in the ribs to do so.

I don’t care what he has to say myself but he is entitled to his view. My issue with his view is is it genuine or is it “politically” motivated? He seems to want to end the season at all costs so why?

I really don’t see ending the season null and void as an option. The season is almost at an end and budgets and players were based as such. No football can be played anytime soon so why rush the start of the new season? Football will be played when is safe to do so and no one knows when that is. He seems heavily biased to me.

I think he has opened his gob again possibly prompted by people here, there are definitely six possibly a couple more in real relegation trouble some of those I’m certain will have huge finance issues if they drop a division especially as things are at the moment, there’s no telling yet when footie returns if things aren’t going to change regarding tv money even in the Prem let alone the championship.

And just a thought if this season was cancelled as Keys suggests it should would clubs be entitled to another load of tv money what they had for this now cancelled season be returned or next seasons not paid, that illustrates how potty his idea is.

Talking of money, the fastest and best way to stop the stone age twat spouting this nonsense us to say "ok Richard, but you now need to return the money you've earned for the cancelled season"

Jesus. Fucked his daughters mate :vomit:

Wife has cancer at the time as well - he then tried to claim he had to leave his wife as his daughter was descending into alcoholism and his wife wouldn’t let him help her

It will be commercially driven no doubt.

What's the obsession with starting next season? Finish this season whenever we can and then adapt next season. Let the season that hasn't started yet be the one that is impacted not the one that is 75 percent finished!
Sentiment of that is good and on the surface I'd agree... but then player contracts typically mature end of June to name but one challenge?

Players will need to move on, or will be let go no doubt. However all that needs to be agreed, or written into the rules, is that no new signing can play for any team for the last 10 games of the season unless they were a true free agent that was not already at a club prior to the outbreak.

That way players can still move on if they prefer it but there is every incentive for existing players whose contracts are up in June to agree a deal to stay at their current clubs for the last 10 games, or for loan signings to be extended for the last 10 games.

My honest opinion is the season should be concluded at the earliest opportunity. That being the case, there must be a time limit for that to happen obviously as the start of a new season could clash. Extending one season and delaying the start of the new season is possible up to a point.
My belief is the virus situation is not going to improve the circumstances within these time frames and the season will inevitably have to be cancelled, declared complete at the current standings or a panel of experts secretly voting projected results of the remaining games. It would be very wrong to void the whole season effectively giving a free pass to thelikes of Bolton or Norwich. That would not make sense and penalise those at the other end of the spectrum, i.e: Coventry, Leeds etc.
So whatever happens a 'completed' season must happen be that playing or god forbid a panels of experts.

Whenever this passes finish the season and then next season starts with no cup competitions and no internationals to save time

One other thing, even if we cancel this season, will we really be ready to start next season on time? Whichever way you look at it, it's far too early to be making statements like this saying the season must be cancelled. So fuck off you hairy-handed twat.

what happens when you decide there is no time to complete the current season due to a clash... and then we are not able to start the next season either because disruption is still ongoing. Then you have 2 disrupted seasons instead of just 1...
