There is of course the question that no one is asking. Will Brexit be postponed. Serious question. If governments both in the EU and U.K. are sorting something as serious as Coronavirus out when should they make time for something as trivial as Brexit?
Fuck that, will it get us back to Coventry?

A trade deal is hardly going to be the priority of the Americans either.
I think the UK has until June to request an extension to the transition period, De Pfeffel has so far ruled it out but he is great at those u-turns.

Brexit needs to be kicked kicked down the round for at least 6 months

Don't explicitly instruct venues and theatres to close to protect my mates in the insurance industry while putting future of said venues in jeopardy.

You get behind him all you like. He's a fucking pillock

more misinformation, Sunak/Johnson confirmed during the press conference that Sunak had been speaking to insurance industry today and they have agreed to pay out (if correct policy is in place) even though government hasn’t formally requested closure

they have also offered business rate holidays and cash grants to businesses in hospitality and leisure (believe grant is more to help smaller businesses in sector though)

25k which is nowhere near enough. Nothing to help the staff that will be laid up either.

They've spoken to the insurance industry, let's see what happens?

They also said they're going to help airlines, music to the ears of multi billionaires like Branson. But what about renters and people on zero hours contracts and the people who are really going to struggle in all this?
They also said the loans would be offered on favourable terms. I think the mafia describe their loan terms in a similar way.

Exactly absolutely nothing to help ordinary people. Even the Right wing trump administration is looking like it may give normal people a bail out as well

If I was a small bar or restaurant I wouldn’t turn it down. He also mentioned further steps coming following meetings with unions and businesses leaders (I think there will have to be more direct help to individuals but I’m guessing that would be when they see if the businesses can keep staff on or how many are laid off - ideally you want businesses to keep staff employed, if not, you help the individual - that’s my take anyway, might be wrong)

No one said to turn it down but it's just fiddling around the edges. Also individual people are going to need help and not just those that work in the hospitality industry.

ps not that trump deserves any scepticism at all but there is also an election later this year. That’s not to say there doesn’t need to be additional ways to help individuals. I’d be surprised if this wasn’t coming though especially to self employed (although thought I heard about an initial 3k cash grant to smallest businesses, will need to check whether that was specific industries though)

I didn’t realise that they’re not even testing medical professionals in the first instance. So if a nurse gets a sore throat they have to self isolate for 2 weeks like everyone else. Surely the sensible thing to do is test and fast track the results to keep as many medical professionals at work as possible. Madness.

What exactly does this mean though? For me it's an easy get-out clause that they can use to say they didn't have the correct policy. Still very easy from that to say they won't pay out unless formally closed.

Hardly fucking bigging him up is it, just getting behind his plans to help the country and economy something which maybe you should be doing instead of bitching because you have a dislike to our PM

And if the election had gone the other way I've no doubt you'd be highly supportive of Labour and Corbyn's strategy and have faith in that wouldn't you?

There were rumours that people had correct cover but couldn’t claim because of the advisory (rather than categoric) nature of the government advice. I presume it will tie into business disruption part of policy

I never trust insurers full stop. Seen them fuck over businesses and people. My point was in response to Clint suggesting the Johnson hadn’t given ‘close down’ advice to help his insurer mates out. As I allude to above they rarely need help to get out of claims, hopefully if there is government pressure they will be supportive but we’ll see.

Sunak was brilliant today in everything he was saying was so clear and calm, he is PM material

It wasn’t rumours. It’s what people trying to claim were told by their insurance companies.

It’s nuts. The missus works at the hospital. I came out of isolation the day the advice changed to household isolation for two weeks. She goes into work today and mentions it (she’s had no symptoms), staff start kicking off saying she should isolate. Occ Health say no she’s fine. Then later in the day change their mind and have now sent her home for two weeks. Despite the fact that I’m the one with the symptoms and I’m back at work. And this is the NHS!

Suspect Boris will regret pushing old cone head out when he did. Agree that he’s looking more like the PM than the PM. And politics never stops, he was happy enough climbing over the body of Javid.

Think that may change as of tomorrow and your Missus will be back at work.
